December 14, 20223 yr Not seen this particular picture before against Wet Spam in 84 that's them in the corner. The press implied that one of the lads was on the other bus which wasn't true but did lead to the nickname Chelsea Bedhunters which I have to admit is funny. Never went to Shakes as was pretty notorious pub.

I was working close to be Brit about 10 years ago and popped in for a pint. It was still a West Ham pub then with regalia everywhere. It used to be owned by Frank Lampard Sn.
December 16, 20223 yr Grimsby 84 great day has been spoken about many times on here. Not my part of London but surely it would need to be the Tardis to get from Bromley to Lewisham in 5 minutes😆. Tunbridge Wells to SB in an hour with stop offs and picking up geezers who've just staggered out of the boozer in presumably a coach that made a Green Line bus look luxurious ! When I was younger I worked with a few older East Enders didn't matter what part they would all say yeah I knew the twins or my brother was mates with them or my auntie worked in their club etc. Hickey's coach seems to have the same mythology about it ask any Chelsea fan over 60 yeah I used to go on it although quite a few are sketchy about the detail 😆 Edited December 16, 20223 yr by bluehaze
December 16, 20223 yr At Shrewsbury in the FA Cup, January 1986. We won 1-0. It was bloody cold. During the warm-up before the match there was a snowball fight between the fans and the players.

I was on the benches opposite Gate 13. Don’t remember them being in the seats behind but do remember them down the front of the shed in-line with the tea bar. Kicked off around the time of Colin Lee’s twice taken penalty! They weren’t in there long.

Although not sure about a coach!!
December 16, 20223 yr Someone on Twitter asked if anyone remembered these and if someone still had one and remarkably someone did !! Edited December 16, 20223 yr by bluehaze

A good 150 of them in the West Stand who left maybe 15 minutes before full time, everyone knew they were heading for the Shed where the gates would be opened for early birds bailing out; Our lot in the West Stand cottoned on and followed- they run wild until the people that wanted to get involved zoned in, I've got WHU mates who were watching from the North Stand who conceded that from where they were standing they got properly starched out
December 17, 20223 yr A mate sent me a load of pictures of Bruges 95 if anyone is interested I'll post them in a new thread over Christmas bound to get some downtime 👍.

I was going then though don't recall that one against Wimbledon in 92 at Selhurst Park. Ironic though we had Fleck up front with John Spencer on the bench, sometimes despite time moving on things don't change at least in the striking department.
December 21, 20223 yr 1945 Football League War Cup Southern Final. We won 2-0. Crowd was 90,000 and the match was played on 7 April a month before VE Day.
