Spoke with Micky T last year. He goes to see Joey a lot, dementia is getting worse and is not to good.

Like a lot of sufferers, his short term memory is bad but his long term memory is ok.

Thanks mate.

Dementia is a harrowing illness. My mother has it and it is / was very sad (to say the least)  to watch her memory deteriorate .

I can’t really put it into words.

I wish Joey and all his family and friends the very, very best.

Seconded. I have close friends whose parents suffered with it, and in one case is still. I feel very lucky I never had to go through that with my parents, who were themselves right to the end.

It's really shocking that so many footballers, rugby players and NFL players are now being diagnosed with it, a few in their late 30s, like Steve Thompson and Ryan Jones.
