Watched by 37,205 spectators (officially !) Bobby Smith putting the boot in. Liked the bright lights when he was at Stamford Bridge according to my cousin. We sold him for a fair amount of money to Spurs though.

Our scorers were Bobby Tambling 25th, Ron Tindall 30th and Terry Neil (O.G) 89th mins respectively. It was watched by 38,233 spectators. Incidentally, Jimmy Greaves was playing for England v Scotland at Wembley at exactly the same time this match took place. England won 9-3 ! Jimmy scored a hat-trick in front of 97,350 spectators.

Back in the day, goalies either wore no gloves or thin gloves. Nowadays, gloves are like those worn by wicket-keepers. I think the first goalie to wear thicker gloves was the great German goalie, Sepp Maier but may be wrong.
