Problem is, no matter how many times I play them, I can never settle on 6 pokemon, I mean there are so many to choose from. So far my squad this time around is: Nidoking, Venasaur, Bellsprout, Oddish, Dratini Ahh I adored Pokemon blue and yellow. I've always been a water pokemon lover really, so always chose Squirtle to begin with. My squad usually had: Blastoise, Pikachu, Pidgeot, Butterfree, Alakazam, Dewgong. I still have my 3DS. I don't play it anymore because I have a Switch but I would never sell it, too many good games on it, including Smash Bros.

I've always been a grass-type fan myself, as you can probably tell by my squad so far. I've tried a few of the later games, but there are so many of the things to choose from, I can never make up my mind, plus you always end up having the same few every time, as that's just what is available in the first few areas. I'm playing yellow on the PC at the moment with a gameboy emulator, good thing is you can speed it up so the battles and travelling go much faster. Edited February 16, 20188 yr by Zeta

Remember the old link cable? Madness how far technology has come since then! Did you ever have Pokemon Gold or Silver? I had Gold and for me that's the best Pokemon game they ever made. It was all down hill after that. Though I did buy Pokemon X for my 3DS and enjoyed it. But, like you said, there are so many damn Pokemon added to the roster each time that it's infuriating. 150 is enough!

Red, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Pearl, Ruby, Sapphire, HeartGold, Black/White, etc... I tried Silver a few times (since it's the successor to Blue) I'm not sure if I ever finished it though, I remember hitting a brick wall around half way through where it took ages to level my stuff up. I will probably buy myself a 3DS soon and get the old ones though and play them through again.

I've heard really good reviews but I just can't play stuff like that, I'm well into open worlds and RPG's but East Asian game developers always introduce manga into their games and it really puts me off. I hate when you see a sword that's bigger than the actual person and they're doing 360 spins with it.

It ruins the immersion of it for me though. On 12/02/2018 at 14:18, Van Butsen said: Anyone getting Kingdom Come: Deliverance tomorrow? I think I will. Not heard of this but seems right up my street. That's exactly it, it just kills the immersion, I love fantasy lore aswell but I don't like it when it goes into the realms of Pokemon or final fantasy style. And Kingdom Come Deliverance is excellent so far.
February 17, 20188 yr I’ve just been reading some reviews, it sounds pretty awesome but full of bugs? I wouldnt be buying it for a while so they’ll probably ironed out a bit more by the time I get a copy.
February 21, 20188 yr Just ordered Horizon Zero Dawn, now that it's cheap as chips. Anyone played it, what's it like?

Finished playing through Crystal for the first time (the directors cut of Gold/Silver) and was pretty good. Trying to start the next one, Emerald, but it's just nowhere near as fun. I think it was generation 3 where they just started getting ridiculous with things. Stupid names, stupid designs. I don't recognise most of them.

Combat is fun, environments are gorgeous. Plenty to do without the map being littered with too many pointless collectibles (Assassin's Creed I'm looking at you). Definitely well worth playing.

Only thing I am worried about is that Aloy only seems to have a bow and arrow as a weapon, and that's it. Doesn't it get stale after a while?

You pick up different types of arrows and abilities and the more you play the better you get at swapping between them all to take down your foes in the most efficient way possible.

Boomerang, hookshot, bows and arrows too! But I see what you mean. Good. I am looking forward to playing it
February 21, 20188 yr Man I love Horizon. The expansion is great too. There is certainly a lot of bow and arrow combat (different types of bows, different ammos etc). But there are other weapons too. Different tactics. You have a spear for melee, you have ropecaster for tying machines down, you have traps you can set. I'm terrible at combat, but found the possibilities very fun to play around with. I think all things considered it's probably my favorite game I've played on PS4 (I haven't played that many games in fairness). I loved the enemies, the story gets better as it goes on (in my opinion). There's plenty of challenge killing some of the enemies (well, certainly if you're a scrub like me).

Man I am loving this game. I'm quite invested in the story and the visuals are gorgeous . I've only just got out of the Proving and have got the ability to 'override' the machines. Can't wait to explore a bit more! Messing about with the tripcaster is great too. @ForeverCarefree , I was wrong to doubt you and this game.

The more I think of the game, it may actually be the game I've had the most fun with in my life. A lot of games I enjoy parts of, but other parts frustrate me to no end. The only part of Horizon I didn't enjoy was trying to get blazing suns at all the training grounds. Just wondering around the world killing machines, exploring...absolutely perfect for me. Combining a sci-fi age with a stone age is really cool. Great, now I feel like starting it again. Not going to though...need to finish Zelda.
February 28, 20188 yr Used to play Dota 2 a few years ago, community is awful though. Tried again a year ago, but they'd changed the map layout and I didn't like it.

April 4, 20188 yr Far Cry 5 a pretty good game, worth the money I think. The only issue I'm having is Ubisoft lacking in the direction they're going in. Every game they're putting out are massive open world games and they're trying to bring more RPG elements in their games, which I'm all for I love RPG's. Ghost Recon Wildlands I enjoyed and I'm a single player guy but that game kinda sucked for single player gamers, it was tedious, a massive grind, nothing to gain for a crappy ending also. If they're going to focus on open world games they need to bring more strategic and RPG elements to it. Yes the Far Cry world looks beautiful, Bolivia in Wildlands looked gorgeous also, huge world, but it's quantity over quality at the moment. You need to bring more content to the world, where's the strategy? What is the point in me completing everything in some area if I gain little out of it? Why spend a few hours game time completing one area for a silly weapon modification. It all falls to Microtransactions also which is a big controversy, making it a grind on purpose so you have to go out and buy the stuff. Although in Far Cry it's pretty easy to go out and earn cash than purchasing things with real money, so I didn't find it an issue. But I thought Far Cry was lacking a bit of content, it got a bit too stale like Wildlands and Watch Dogs they could do better, just look at the Witcher 3 and see how much content they put into every single area of the game. You can never say never right now with the standards the Witcher 3 set. Sadly I don't think anything will even match that gaming standard until a long time and it'll probably be by CD Project Red outdoing themselves again when they release Cyber Punk.
April 4, 20188 yr @Slojo I completely agree. Ubisoft are basically a poor mans EA, churning out repeatarive titles that offer nothing new or groundbreaking. I liked Wildlands because I played it with a mate, otherwise it would have been boring as hell. I’m a fan of the far cry series for the storylines really, the game play for each game is nearly exactly the same! Don’t get me started on Watch Dogs, that was the cherry on top of the steaming pile they’ve produced over the years. They have the formula of; pick franchise; create massive map on same old engine; f**k we should think of a story; f**k that’s not enough to charge £50 for better think of a gimmick; f**k the game still only lasts 10 minutes best spread loads of collactables that add nothing around the map; sh*t still not enough best show horn in pointless player upgrades. The only saving grace is the platinum trophies are normally easy to get! I’ll by far cry 5; cheap and second hand. Ubisoft don’t see a penny that way. Re; The Witcher 3. I’m still playing it now. That’s how you make a great game!
