Any game recommendation?

Agree.  They really need to address this as it removes incentive to continue playing the game.  I'm 39 now and don't really have much time for gaming - its supposed to be some kind of escape and not a run on my wallet!

I think this is why I’ve slowly gone off gaming. Everything just feels the same nowadays, boring repetitive sh*te!

I think a lot of developers think that bigger is better. There’s generally only so many hours a person can put into a game before they get bored or something new comes out.

Its a problem, but its been brought on by gamers themselves. Wanting bigger open world games, only to find that just means there's loads more space between things happening, some of those walking games are just so empty, look lovely, oh look were walking along another defined path between events, with some bullsh*t story in between. Its just dreadful.

The main reason why i don't want to buy Elden Ring, even know I know I will enjoy it once i get to grips with the difficulty. It's just too big. I'm still tussling with Horizon Forbidden West and it's just the right size and scale I think.

I'm instead going to buy the new Kirby game for my Switch. And wait until Ghostwire: Tokyo is discounted a bit before buying that. It's right up my street despite mixed reviews.

Yeah so many missions are repetitive. I find that games are filled with pointless missions just to make the game bigger.

Which is funny really because some of my all time favourite games can be completed in under 20 hours. If I played The Simpsons Hit and Run today, I am sure I could complete it in under 10 hours without rushing it.

So many games today are padded out with walking, talking and cutscenes. You will push up on the analog stick, follow some random npc character who will be talking about something you don't care about, only to stop for a 5 or 10 minute cutscene. Now and again you actually get to the combat that lasts 5 or 10 minutes before it's back to cutscenes and more walking and talking.

I have also noticed more and more lately that characters just never shut up talking. It's constant dialogue. I notice it most in Square Enix games. Every combat scene it's something like "watch out" or "well done".........I'm like shut up and let me play 😆

WHAT a game!

I was obsessed with it back in the day. Simpsons Road Rage was good but the GTA-style nature of being able to explore Springfield in H&R was amazing. Would love to see a remake.

It will always be one of my favourites. I would love a remaster / remake or even a sequel.

Finished Dying Light 2 today. Still got some side missions to do but storyline is done. Enjoyed the game, it’s solid without ever being spectacular. Storyline was a little weak and the last mission dragged on.  Weapons a little disappointing compared to the first one. The most enjoyable bit was simply exploring the city and free roaming. I bought the game purposefully digitally so that I could continue playing it when DLCs come out as they reckon the game has 5 years of updates in it.

Might take a break from it now and then come back to do the side missions. What else to play?!

For some reason, I’m not fancying it. I don’t know why - I really enjoyed the last one. I’m thinking about picking Evil Dead and Sniper Elite next month. Maybe I’ll save Horizon.

Are you enjoying it?

Loving it mate. Not just the gameplay and the general awesomeness of it, but its just SUCH a pretty game too. I spend most of my time messing about in the photo-mode. Beautiful vistas everywhere!

Ah well maybe wait until it drops in price a bit, you might fancy it then!

Try Weird West, its a lovely little game, if you are into that type of thing. I love how you can do pretty much anything, kill anyone, even quest givers ha ha...quick save before doing anything has become a must.

After completing Dying Light 2, I’m looking for something new to play. I’m holding off on Horizon as I recently re-played the first one and need a break from it.

Evil Dead comes out 13th May which looks interesting. Sniper Elite 5 comes out at the end of May - quite like that series.

Thinking maybe Deathloop or Sifu. Anyone played these?

I started Deathloop but I just couldn’t get in to it at all.

What was the issue? Gameplay or storyline?

65 hours into Horizon: Forbidden West and I've completed the main story, and a lot of the side missions I should think. I enjoyed every second of this game, it built on the success of the first and added so much stuff, improving on almost everything. And my lawwwwd, it's gorgeous! What to play next...?

What are the machines like? Are they largely similar?

Yes you have the machines from the previous game like the burrowers, scroungers and glinthawks. But also some terrifying new ones and you get to override them for some sick mounts!
