Now I’m looking at Riders Republic as my next game. I used to love 1080 snowboarding on the N64, SSX Tricky on GameCube and SSX (2012) on Xbox360, the latter of which is probably my favourite sports game of all time. The soundtrack was BANGING and all the courses were just amazing.
So Riders Republic looks right up my street! I’ve looked at gameplay videos and the biking stuff in particularly looks fast-paced and fun.

I played the trial and it seemed decent enough game. All felt quite well made and better than Steep which I couldn’t get into unfortunately. Skiing was good fun

Well I’ve just bought it now so will let you know how I find it!

Let us know what it’s like. I read the reviews and they’ve came out pretty positive.

I gave up on Far Cry 6.... I started to feel bored just at the thought of playing it.

Bought Call of Duty to tide me over. Online is more of the same, so that will keep me occupied.

Zombies mode is rubbish, they've ruined it by overthinking it rather than keeping what kept it most enjoyable.

Made a start on the campaign, thrown myself into the deep end and will try and finish it on vetran difficulty to make it last longer. Graphics and haptic feedback on the dualsense are both quite good.

Ah that’s a shame. I was thinking of getting Far Cry but might hold off for abit. I’ve got Back 4 Blood to play and then Battlefield out next week so that should keep me going.

I downloaded the GTA: Definitive Edition on to my Switch. There are a load of articles saying how it’s a really bad remaster etc and there are loads of errors but I’ve played a few hours of GTA III (ahhh so much nostalgia!) and have had no problems. Graphics are fine and the driving controls are still very good.

Ive played a few hours of Riders Republic too and it’s a lot of fun. I’m in awe at how big the map is actually, and you can seemlessly traverse the entire world using skis, snowboard, bike or rocket pack/ wing suit and explore.

Being able to carve my way through the snow down a thrilling red run before the terrain turns to concrete, where I can immediately switch to my bike and pedal my way through deep gorges and then suddenly rocket to the ski and soar over the Grand Canyon is majestic. The events and races are fast-paced, and switching to first person mode when you’re on your bike shooting down a steep slope is mental.

A recommended purchase if you like extreme sports games, though I do wish they had  just made another SSX game instead!

Not that I’m considering switch consoles, but I was just looking at X box Game pass. Am I right in thinking that you pay £10 a month and you can play ANY games that are included?

If so, that’s incredible value. All the top games seem to be on there.

Good review. It’s a shame that they didn’t include Snowboarding but I suppose Skiing is. Good replacement

They did include snowboarding, I think I mentioned it.

After the news that the new Elder Scrolls game is going to be an Xbox Exclusive, I’m thinking of getting an Xbox just to play it, if it ever comes out! Probably not for another 3 years or so though…

Yep, and all MS first party games will be released day one on it. There's also a way to get 3 years gamepass ultimate for about £120.

Gotta say, that is an incredible deal. Almost like a subscription model isn’t it.

Exactly like a subscription model, its pretty much the way MS do all their software now, office etc. You also get a discount on the games in gamepass if you choose to buy them outright.

Anyone getting battlefield on Friday?

I was going to but picked up Call of Duty last week so not sure I need two FPS games on the go at the same time.

Apparently the early access to Battlefield isn't going to well with quite a few bugs and glitches that are making the game less than fun for quite a few people. No doubt a lot of it will be patched but how long until it's fixed is anyone's guess.

Apparently there’s 3 patches coming out in the first couple of weeks so should be quick. I played the beta and the game seemed fine to me. I didn’t spot any bugs or issues.

I’m not great at online shooters so tend to play as a medic on them. People online are too quick for me!

There are actually multiple choices.

£7.99 for game pass pc

£7.99 for game pass console

£10.99 for game pass ultimate, which is game pass for console and pc, play online on console and now cloud gaming support.

Very often they will offer 3 months of game pass ultimate for £1, which is what I have been doing pretty much since it launched. In total, I have probably only paid around £10 for game pass in 2 years. Also, if you do Microsoft Rewards, you can get game pass without ever paying a penny.

Anyone had a go on the Halo Multiplayer? Its so bloody addictive, they have got the gameplay absolutely spot on, though people are unhappy with the XP progress etc, mostly those types who want bright Orange guns, want to wear a bear suit and do stupid dances.

I recently tried Age of Empires 4 on my PC and I got disappointed a bit.

I mean I picked England and sure the longbow people are strong but the men at arms die so quickly so technically you can't really have an army, the whole point is to go back and forward with knights on horses and to put big walls and then when your peasants get enough gold you build like a ton of artillery and hope for the best.

Virtual fingering anyone? Take yourself back in time to the 90s or earlier.

Is there a level where you do some fingering behind the shops with a lass 2 years older?

After playing Back 4 Blood and Battlefield for the last 2 months, it’s made me realise that while they are good games, you can’t beat a game that you can play at your own pace. A good open world storyline. Online games can be good but they can get repetitive

Picked up Far Cry 6. Seems decent enough. I mean I’m not expecting too much from it with it being a Ubisoft game but seems a decent enough shooter. Must say, doesn’t feel like a Far cry game, more like a Just Cause game!
