Playing Mass Effect LE, ah so much nostalgia, so many lifts, so much fury at the Mako.....

Bloody loving it though.

Its a much quicker progressing game that the first one, easier to find the stuff you need to build etc.

Enjoyed it though.

I’ve got pretty bored with it to be honest. Doesn’t feel as big as the original and I don’t feel the need to actually build properly, just bang down a massive room full of lockers and the bits I need to progress.

On the first game I ended up building one massive main base (I can’t find anywhere clear enough on this map for this) with lots of little satellite bases in the other biomes. In this one it’s just doing it as a means to an end.

Started playing Guardians of the Galaxy as my kid has got it. Thought I’d start my own game and give it a bash. Gotta say, it’s really well made. Very impressed and I’m only on the first chapter. It’s got good reviews all round so hoping it will keep me going until Dying Light comes out.

What games is everyone looking forward to this year?

Dying Light 2 is the big one for me

Late to the game replying to this one.

Elden Ring is my most anticipated. Dark Souls 1, 3, Bloodborne and Sekiro are some of my favourite games so really looking forward to Elden Ring.

Horizon Forbiden West looks good. I enjoyed the first game quite a bit, probably one of the better open world games of recent years.

I'm hopeful for Dying Light 2 but it seems to have had a bit of a tortured development so will definitely be waiting a week or two after its' release to find out whether it is worth getting because there's been a lot of games released in the last couple of years that have been a massive let down the state they've been in on release.

I'll also probably get Tiny Tina's Wonderland which is a Borderlands spin off that looks like it could be a lot of fun.

Yeah I can see that, I think they've dumbed the second one down a bit to make it more accessible.

I imagine that Dying Light 2 will be good. Can’t see it being a bad game. Same with HZD. Solid games.

Some big games involved in that deal.

As long as it’s not EA destroying another small studio!

Enjoying Nobody Saves the World after an hour on or two on it tonight, its a lovely little RPG by the makers of Gucamelee. Well worth a try.

Sub Zero was just so disappointing to me. Small world, unrewarding crafting and an annoying protagonist that won't shut up.

On a related note I can't recommend Outer Wilds (not to be confused with Outer Worlds) enough. It doesn't have the crafting of Subnautica but it has the same style of isolation and exploration. Try to play it as blind as possible, referring only to the ships computer for hints.

In terms of what I'm currently playing, I'm also playing Guardians of the Galaxy. It's probably the most I've enjoyed an action game in a long time. Extremely linear but it honestly doesn't matter. Looks great, it's fun to play, the dialogue is really really good and it's got a Brilliant sound track. I know it got good reviews but I'm actually kinda surprised at how little hype there is around the game, I guess the terrible Avengers game caused a lot of people to overlook it which is a shame.

Brilliant game isn’t it. I’m on chapter 3. Really well made

And now Sony buys Bungie for $3.6b

Fairly shrewd by Sony. Destiny has ended up being a massive franchise and if Bungie make a Destiny 3 that's a Playstation exclusive it'll be a huge win for them.

Xbox/Microsoft buying Buthesda and Activision Blizzard is going to be interesting. They'll make some games Xbox console exclusive but not sure they'll keep games like Call of Duty and Elder Scrolls to themselves. The amount of revenue they'll make from those two games on Playstation and Nintendo would far outweigh what they'd make by keeping it exclusive.

Interesting approach from Microsoft though. I do wonder if down the line they're going to try and make Game Pass so attractive that Sony will have little choice but to make it available as a subscription on Playstation.

Dying Light 2 out tomorrow. Very excited for it.

Reviews have been pretty decent for it. Sitting at 77/100 on Metacritic. I'm still going to wait for player feedback on it though.

I won't be getting it this month though because I already have Horizon and Elden Ring on pre-order and there's no way I'll have enough time to finish Dying Light before they come out... That's before getting into that those 3 games would set me back £200!

Sickening isn’t it! I remember the good old days of a new release not setting you back more than £20! Nobody bloody well mention the price of a Freddo nowadays or I’ll have an heart attack!

Horizon Forbidden West’s price-tag has put me off getting it for now. £70, you must be f**king joking.

Im having a blast on Pokemon Legends Arceus anyway so I don’t need a new game for the time-being.

I found an older playstation network gift card the other day, so I have $25 to blow on there. Ended up finding efootball on there, which is pro evolution soccer, for free on there. Played my first game last night -- argentina vs portugal -- and got absolutely smoked.

Anyone else play the efootball game before?

Yeah I’ve played it. It’s ok but it’s too limited. Barely any modes and it’s largely been a disaster of a release.

Dying Light 2 feels like a solid game so far. Some are complaining of bugs but I’ve not experienced anything major. A couple of floating zombies but that’s it. Going out at night terrifies me.

Sifu on Playstation looks amazing, but WHY did they have to make it a rogue-like game? I can't get into them, they're too hard lol.

I was watching a video review and was like YES this is right up my street...then they mention the age thing and about re-starting levels from the very beginning if you get too old (a cool mechanic actually) but I don't play games for a challenge really. A slight challenge is fine but I don't want to be tearing my hair out or chucking the PS control across the room. A shame, because the fighting looks sick AF.

This is why I unfortunately can’t be arsed with the Resident Evil remasters despite the first few games being some of my favourites. I want to shoot that zombie in the face and have it all nice and dead - not have to worry about it chasing me around the room while I search for things and stuff.

Ok reviews for Horizon: Forbidden West are in and it's getting high scores. As I said before i aint paying 70 quid for it so I have finally decided to get off my ass and head to my (not so) local Game store and trade in about 10 games to get it for a decent price.

The only Resident Evil game i enjoyed was RE4!
