Lads, lads lads! Got some news for you.

I was at a wedding over the weekend with my friend who works for Rockstar. He is usually tight-lipped when it comes to talking about what he is working on but when he got drunk I managed to get some information about the new GTA game:

-It is not going to be called GTA 6

-It is set in Vice City

-They've been working on it for the past 3 years but it will be another 3 before it's released

-It will have a female protagonist

-The game will be structured as 'stories'. I wasn't sure what he really meant by this as he was slurring pretty badly at this point.

-The map will be 10 times bigger than the one in GTA V.

So that's it! A long, long wait until this sees the light of day but it's happening.

Haha, never underestimate the power of alcohol to break non-disclosure contracts. 😀

 Love it! Some of those rumours have been doing the rounds so I don't doubt him at all!

3 years sounds about right too as they are pushing GTA V so much still, so don't think the next one is too close.

By looking how GTA V has got over the last few years, I hope that isn't a sign for the next game. Remember when 5 came out and for a few years it was brilliant online, then came the flying cars, bikes, arena vehicles etc and it just took the fun out of it. Basic is better!

With the new upgrade next gen GTA V, I hear if players don't upgrade within the 3 months since release, they will have to start online characters again on next gen. Also PS5 and Xbox S/X players once upgraded cannot play alongside PS4 and Xbox One players. Crap move from Rockstar!

Not to mention you have to buy the game (online and story this time) yet again on next gen and only get first 3 months free for online. As if they haven't made enough from the game already!

No mention of multiplayer? They must be doing away with it.

GTA V was released in 2013, its 2 console generations old. So when GTA VI finally comes out it will be 12 years between games, theyve milked that game for everything....

No chance they get rid of that, it makes them huge money, its why they havent bothered making a new one for so long.

I wouldn't be surprised if GTA's story mode and online mode are separate going forward. GTA 5's online mode makes them so much money and has grown so much that it's basically a game of it's own at this point. They already market it as GTA Online rather than GTA 5 Online, so I can't see them dropping it once GTA6 comes out.

I was looking at the price differences between  disc and digital on ps5. It’s ridiculous- massive difference. Deathloop is £20 on disc and digital is £60 on PS store. There’s got to be more competition. I know ps store has regular sales and you can pick them up cheaper (but not as cheap as disc games) but it’s ridiculous.

That’s why I didn’t get the PS5 without the disc drive, I often get games cheap second hand which you can’t do with downloads! Do you want my copy? I’m not going to go back to it I don’t think :laugh2:

Now playing Kena: Bridge of Spirits. I got it for cheap on eBay. Haven’t played more than an hour yet but it’s good, simple, charming fun so far.

Ha - thanks. Is Deathloop any good? Worth a blast? Seems abit confusing with all the time elements.

Saw that advertised a few times. Seems decent. Worth a go?

Only if you can get it for about 25 quid. I would never pay full price for it. It's quite linear and the combat is nothing new. But it's fun and the puzzles are quite good, enough to keep you engaged. I can't see myself playing more than 20 hours of it.

After trying to play some older games, I gave in and picked up Horizon Forbidden West. I’m only part way through the introduction but it’s a sold game isn’t it.

Glad you finally cracked and bought it!

Any good games about? Bored to death of Fifa (again) and couldn't really get into Elden Ring. Just want something easy to play after work for an hour or so a night.

I’m struggling abit with Horizon Forbidden West. It’s a good game but finding it abit samey and repetitive. Might shelve it for now and pick it up at a later point.

Evil Dead looks good. Sniper Elite 5 also comes out next week which looks decent.

Grabbed Ghostwire: Tokyo from Ebay for £30. Gonna give it a spin after work. I’ve been to Tokyo so looking forward to playing a game set there, looks like fun.

Yeah looks interesting game, especially with being set in Japan. Let us know what it’s like

Sniper Elite 5 is out today, I’m going to try and pick it up.

The combat controls could be more precise; in fact that combat in general could do with a bit more work but other than that the atmosphere of this game is excellent. The haunted, totally deserted streets of Shibuya/Tokyo in general sends shivers down my spine. Doing side quests to save wandering spirits who creep down the side alleys and back-streets feels rewarding.

It doesn’t reinvent the wheel though; you have the usual open-world tropes (cleanse the evil from otori gates/shrines to de-fog the map, unlock new powers and skills via a skill tree), but if you’re looking for a game set in Japan to kill 30 hours or so you could do worse than this.

Anyone looked at the new PlayStation options? I don’t think I’ll go for premium but might for the middle package for the list of PS4 and PS5 games.

So after all that hype Starfield just looks like No Man’s Sky 2. Im not an Xbox owner but still, what a let down!

My question for today is, should I buy Elden Ring? As someone who has never played a Souls game before. I’ve completed Ghostwire Tokyo and am itching to get my teeth into a new game.
