Any game recommendation?

Side quests in games have becoming boring and repetitive. I rarely 100% a game. Sounds like Ubisoft have just chucked a load of content in regardless of whether it actually adds to the gaming experience.

The best way to some it up is the fact I finished work at 14:00 - I’ve done my shopping, had a run and shower then got on with some tedious admin. I’m only now turning on to waste time before having to cook my dinner.

Subnautica below zero is absolutely bloody marvellous.

I’d heard only awful things about it which was a shame considering how much I loved Subnautica.

What awful things? I didnt have any problems with it, and actually got more engaged in the story than the last one.

It’s been out on beta for PC for donkeys, maybe they’ve sorted it out since I last looked.

Started playing Back 4 Blood. It’s a lot of fun and chaos. It’s not a slow burner, you’re straight into the action.

It's full on isn't it, I was knackered playing it for the first time ha ha...

It is really intense. Match making is a little disappointing, can struggle to find games.

Can you explain…if I select “campaign” and players join me, are the players helping me progress my storyline? Whereas, if I select “quickplay”, am I helping progress there?

I don’t understand the difference between the 2 modes

No idea, I just presumed campaign it advances your storyline while quickplay is just you jumping in to play on someone elses that has no effect on your story.

That’s  what I thought

Riders Republic has a free trial/open beta week (21st - 27th). Plays pretty well, much better than Steep which I could never get into.

Cheers for the heads up on that @JM7 It is a timed play so you can’t play it all over the beta period, but it’s not too bad.

I think I still prefer steep out of the 2, as I think the graphics let that one down. The character customisation looks like PS2.

Ah I thought it was all week. Skiing is good. It does feel like a PS5 version of Steep. Seems like a decent game, prob one I’ll pick up when it’s cheap

Thinking about upgrading my gaming headset as I’ve only got cheap ones. Anyone recommend any? I was looking into the Sony 3D pulse set? Anyone got any experience of that?

I thought it was worse than the main game in almost every way. Not as scary, not as much to explore, over-reliance on oxygen plants/fish in order to fill the environment with mazes, no real need to get vehicles (I literally swam through the final zone, picking up and eating bladderfish so I never ran out of O2), the isolation of the main game ruined by you playing a constantly quipping Marvel heroine.

There's nothing in the game comparable to plunging into the dark depths in the Cyclops, getting attacked by a Leviathan, having to try and escape it, whilst fires break out, then when you think you're safe, having to rush to put out the fires then go outside into the darkness to repair it.

Yes I have got the 3D Pulse and I think it’s great. It’s the only gaming headset I’ve owned so I don’t have anything to compare it to but the bass and sound is really good, very immersive.

Looks good, shame it’s only on Xbox

It's on everything other than ps5 and switch.

Anyone getting the Grand Theft Auto: Definitive Edition trilogy? I loved those games back in the day, especially San Andreas so I can’t wait to get it for my Switch. Portable mayhem!

Maybe in a few years to pass some time. Big fan of GTA but it’s about time they made a new one, not remasters and online BS.

It will be interesting to see how the gameplay is and whether the game feels dated. That’s the problem with remasters. They generally look decent but the game modes/play feel dated.

True, it can feel that way.

Ive finished the main story of Far Cry 6. I’ve actually enjoyed my play through very much.

Something clicked after a few hours and I’ve been obsessively attacking all the bases, doing the treasure hunts and military convoy stuff with relish.

Now I’m looking at Riders Republic as my next game. I used to love 1080 snowboarding on the N64, SSX Tricky on GameCube and SSX (2012) on Xbox360, the latter of which is probably my favourite sports game of all time. The soundtrack was BANGING and all the courses were just amazing.
So Riders Republic looks right up my street! I’ve looked at gameplay videos and the biking stuff in particularly looks fast-paced and fun.

Then it’s on to Pokemon Brilliant Diamond on my Switch, the GTA remasters and Horizon Forbidden West in the new year. I can’t keep up!
