Posted June 17, 201113 yr We have been hugely debating which players we want next season and the transfer rumours . Our management knows which players are being targeted and identifying areas of the field where we need to invest . Everyone is in agreement about investing in new players and that means shipping out some of our players to other clubs . I wonder why are we not concentrating on this part of the transfer business along with buying new players . Some of our players have left for hamburg but those are our academy products and not the senior players in the squad. My worry is when we make some players available for transfer , we may not be in a position to make more cash for the player because some clubs who would have previously shown an interest might have bought some other player or concentrate elsewhere . My point is players like Malouda , Anelka , Bosingwa if they are going to be sold now are going to fetch more now than say wait until late july to make them available. If we are thinking about a player swap deal , we must identify whether the other clubs where we target players will be interested to get our player + cash in a deal . Summarising , 1. Will Spurs be interested to take a striker from us in part exchange for Modric . If striker is not a position they want , why hold up our forward who we have identified to sell until the later stages of the transfer market . 2. Will Inter or Palermo need a left sided midfielder or a right back ? If Yes , then there is a possibility for part exchange deal . If No , why hold on to Malouda , Bosingwa till it is late ? I believe if we have already made up our mind for transfer targets , we should have also identified the current CFC players who are going to be sold. Why not sell players ( if they are not to be included in part cash swap deal ) now or atleast let others know the players available in the market . If the clubs had already decided on that , I m sure that news would atleast appeared once in the press . So it is time for us get into the act now and derive maximum benefit from the market !

Exactly, just because nothing official has been said by the club doesnt mean nothing is happening in the background.
June 17, 201113 yr To me, it would make sense that the club want to sort the guys coming in (or at least make decent progress with negotiations) before they start thinking about shifting people out: If, for example, they've decided to bring in Neymar so that Malouda can be allowed to leave, it doesn't make sense to sell Malouda before we're sure we have his replacement or we could end up completely f**ked. Likewise, it doesn't necessarily follow that selling players early will get you more money. If a club gets f**ked over by City coming in at the last minute and stealing the player they wanted, they might be left without a proper replacement (see the scenario above). There aren't enough top quality players to go around and people will start to get desperate as the end of the transfer window approaches.
June 17, 201113 yr People don't seem to understand that the club never get drawn on speculation. Just because Utd and Liverpool are paying over the odds for knobheads doesnt mean we should also panic.

I was assuming that atleast some news would have been out in the press if we decide to sell players . When some of us have previously felt the board is not acting quick to get the coveted players , the same can be said of the players we would like to sell . I' m not criticising the board but feel just like other clubs we could act swiftly in getting the players shifted out if they are not deemed fit to requirement. For instance , we sure know that if Sturridge has to get any chance , we will have to move atleast one out of Anelka or Kalou . And for Bosingwa you know he has contract only till 2012 , are we going to give him a new contract ?

June 17, 201113 yr Its cut and dried isn't it? Every club knows we're looking to sell Bosingwa, Zhirkov et al despite them not being transfer listed. If we looked to have shipped them last season, the potential buyers wouldn't have known that these guys don't have a future at the Bridge. So it doesn't matter if we sell them tonight or 11:59 on August the 31st, we're going to get the same price as everyone knows they aren't wanted here.

You are right ! I forgot this point that transfer fees could go down . But it leaves me worried that because if we don't get our targets , we will be left with players who would do no better to improve on their performances as against last season and again the game play will be poor which was one of the reasons why Carlo got the sack. I would be disappointed to see some of those players again in the chelsea blue . one would be lying if he says otherwise because the general consensus at the end of last season was to see out of some of those players mentioned .
June 17, 201113 yr Our OUT's have very much to do with the IN's..and we don't have those yeat. We don't even have the manager yet. My guess on who the out's might be: Anelka, Malouda, Drogba, Ferreira, Bosingwa, Zhirkov, Alex. 2-3 of this bunch could be the ones to leave. If we are to buy 2-3 players we have to get rid of the same amount approximately.
June 17, 201113 yr We've already made an enquiry bid into Modric, a player I think everyone would love to have - and the window hasn't officially opened yet. Our CEO has also basically admitted that the new manager is already in place and will be announced within a week or so, certainly before the pre-season begins. What more could you possibly want them to do?

We must ensure some of the older players sticking with us do not indirectly affect the development of younger players in our squad . How many of us want to see Daniel and Josh atleast start 25-30 games ?
June 17, 201113 yr I'd be worried if we actually saw any players leave without any movement in. I was saying that earlier. I would hate to get more "thin" than we already are. And that includes getting us a manager, which I'm confident the board is working on day after day until it's done.
