Got to agree with that.

However, the Telegraph has Benayoun strongly linked with either Lille (or a return to Liverpool, believe it or not). If they're right about this, then it could be that something's got lost in translation, or that yet another someone somewhere is putting two and two together to make five.

Plenty about this from the likes of Tribal Football, Fanatix and so on. The most "reputable" source I've found so far is TalkSport:

Andre Villas-Boas is willing to let the Ivorian leave Stamford Bridge following the arrival of promising young striker Romelu Lukaku.

Kalou has failed to start regularly at Chelsea following his move from Feyenoord in 2006 and is ready to move clubs to kick-start his career.

Arsenal have been keen on him in the past but there’s currently no interest from Chelsea’s London rivals, with Lille the favourites to land him.

The French club lost Gervinho to Arsenal earlier this summer, while they have also missed out on signing Park Chu-Young to Arsene Wenger.

Lille are eager to add some power up front after losing out on Park, with Kalou their main target.

Discussions are at any early stage but Lille are confident the £10m they banked from the Gervinho sale can be used in funding the squad’s overhaul.

Occasionally the way my mind works is too complex for anyone's good (especially mine).

However, I have it on very good authority that in Swahili Kalou and Benayoun are practically identical.

I don't get all the Kalou hate. Yes, his ability to blow an easy shot is beyond frustrating. But still, he scores a pretty high rate of goals considering how few minutes he plays. And he has scored some super clutch ones as well.

Personally, I'd rather find a way to unload Anelka than Kalou. That being said, take Kalou, Yossi, and some cash and see if we can pry Hazard away from them.
