So I was thinking about our future lineups and remembered reading awhile ago that we own 40% of the transfer rights of Wallace, highly regarded right back at Fluminense. Trouble is, the sites that I read that on were pretty untrustworthy. Anyone heard anything concrete about him and the possibility he'll be joining us in around a year (he's only 16-17 at the moment)?

Cheers.

AFAIK we own either half rights, or first option or some other bollox on 3 youngs from Flubidydoo, something to do with the deal that sent Deco there.

Brilliant. I had only heard of Wallace, so Ronan and Pernao are new to me. I will have to keep an eye on their development (and likely buy them all in FIFA).

Was just thinking about this today as well.

I only found the site yesterday so not too sure how good it is, but everything seem well written at least.

Would absolutely love if he came on as a good right back in the next few years, could save us shelling out for VDW or somebody just as overpriced.

This is all I've actually seen of him, so its just blind hope at the moment.

and I'm not even 100% it's him.

edit: second goal is him... I think.

Why not buy Wallace give him a 5-year contract and loan him for 2 to Napoli. Also heard Inter are in for him which makes you wonder why we don't buy him if we are buying decent young players.

Didn't we get first choice anyways? As part of the Deco deal..

It's never been officially reported on, as some people think we have right of first refusal, while others think we just owned a percentage of the players' rights. If that price is low enough and those two teams think he might be good enough, I guess we may as well take a shot at him.

Ah right. You wouldn't know the other 2 players we supposedly have the same rights to? Im sure I read there were 3 players..

Are we signing both Wallace and Azpilicueta? If so, what are our plans for Ivanovic and also Ferreira, Hutch and Kane?

Wallace is still only 18, more of competition to kane, then to ivan. So azpilcueta will still hopefully be coming in. Wallace won't be for the first team yet I would presume.

I see. I thought he was a bit older. Guess it's a signing for the future. Still, Azpilicueta is young as well, so we could in a few years have three good right backs. On the other hand, we could also make a good profit from selling one of them.

I think we are only signing Wallace because we have the option to so it wouldn't cost us much. He would definitely be competition for Kane, but I would also expect him to either stay in Brazil or go to Portugal because he wouldn't qualify for a work permit yet.

I would expect this signing won't impact our pursuit of Azplicueta.

You can never have enough quality depth, particularly on defense. I'm glad we're jumping in on Wallace now as the cost is negligible and I'd hate to watch us let him slip away only to develop into a top notch fullback for an Italian team.

Story is we're taking our option on him, but still going to sign Azpilicueta. Wallace more of a bench player or out on loan

Kane is far from ready yet. He will need a year or two on loan. Hutch i dont think could play week in week out for the first team. Paulo is a good player but i think this will be his last season with us and as for Ivan, he will hold down what ever position he wants. Also JT is surely only 2-3 seasons away from having a very reduced role or retiring. Ivan can move into the centre.

I cant say i have seen anything of the spanish kid we are linked with but i hear from you all very good things so he will either play back up to Ivan or play RB while Ivan goes into the middle. It just gives up more options which is greatly needed for a top team now days.
