No away fans

Featured Replies

I was just thinking of what football would be like if you had no away fans at home grounds. On one hand you could make the ground a boiling pot for the away team but on the other hand sometimes it takes away fans to wake up the home fans a bit.

What are your thoughts?

There arent enough tickets made available for away fans in the premier league as it is, hence why the best atmospheres are usually present at cup ties.Give them more for me, football thrives on atmosphere and rival fans generate it.

My thoughts? it makes no sense.

Snort! You stole the words right out of my mouth! I feel a song coming on!

In the last 30 years I've watched more away games than home games, simply because London is 120 miles away, WBA and all the midlands clubs are half hour away, if away support was banned 30 years ago, I doubt I would be a Chelsea fan.

would lead to a lot more trouble with away fans gettings seats all over the place ................................

............ticket touts would love it .............................

Not a chance - would kill the atmosphere.

In fact in the last couple of years before leaving England, I actually prefered my trips to away games than trips to the Bridge - seeing new grounds. paying half the ticket price and the us vs them mentality that being an away fan generated (not to mention the fact you can almost always stand throughout the game!).

In Bosnia our away fans are banned to attend matches due to severe violence at away games. Two supporters died in recent years and our Football Association made their move and from the start of this season only home supporters are allowed to attend games.
