One thing that stands out from that video is that his team is full of bad finishers.

Goals I hear you say? Check this out, this is some more recent footage since ronaldinho joined te club

Fed up with being linked with Brazilian footballers all the time. Most of them never adapt to the prem so i don't see the point in targeting them all the time.

Didn't you also say the other day that Brasilian players only care about playing offense? You seem to harbor an illogical hatred for the country that consistently produces many of the world's best footballers.

It seems the boy is a very talented youngster. I do worry about his height and weight (5' 4" 57KG) but it seems be been getting soe good reviews.

The ‘dead-cert’ for the Campeonato Brasileirão’s ‘Young player of the year award’ is Atlético Mineiro’s Bernard. At only 1.62m and around 57kg, he’s lightweight. But his technical abilities, coupled with his tenacity and combative spirit, make Bernard a real handful and an exciting prospect. The attacking midfielder is an Atlético youth product and made his debut for the club as a makeshift right-back in March 2011. He then returned to the junior teams before establishing himself with the pros in his preferred position as a midfielder towards the backend of the Brasileirão that year. The arrival of former Brazil international, Ronaldinho, attracted a lot of media attention for Galo. The veteran’s presence and experience have also clearly benefitted Bernard and the pair have made Atlético a real force going forward. The 20-year-old was in Mano Menezes’ preliminary squad for the London Olympics but failed to make the final 18-man team. However, he got his first call-up to the senior side for the ‘friendlies’ against Argentina in September.

Expert’s opinion – Rogério Corrêa is a football commentator at TV Globo and SporTV and is based in Belo Horizonte. He says:“Bernard is small, quick, gifted and confident. He’s not the finished article but his passing and shooting are continually improvingâ€.

No way, i love Brazil, they are probably the best national team to watch. I think when i said about them always playing offensively and never defending i kinda said it wrong. What i meant was that their defensive minded footballers always put attack before defense. If they see an attack they will get involved even if they leave themselves open for counter attack.

I would just like to see us target some young English players for once, Chelsea are an English team so we should be looking at English players.

I'm not trying to call you out or anything, I'm just trying to make sense of this statement from the topic about Damiao:

Nah to many Brazilians at the club right now. Brazilian players don't care about defensive work all they like doing is attack attack attack. This is probably why in the past they have prefered to join Spanish clubs over English clubs.

Personally, I don't care what nationality our players are. As long as we have the requisite number of homegrown players, I'm not concerned if they're English, German, Dutch, Brasilian, Japanese, whatever. I don't understand the mentality that we should go after English players because we're an English club. If they're good, sure, but English player development nowadays isn't on par with a lot of other countries. Combined with the premium that you often pay for English players, which isn't commensurate with their actual level of ability, I think we can find better deals elsewhere.

Fair enough. I just think there are better young English players out there to look at than the Brazilian ones that we are rumoured to be interested in.

I suppose it would be easier to get young English players if clubs wouldn't ask for ridiculous amounts of money for them.

You find me an English player who can do what that lad can and I will get Torres to score 30 goals a season

I've seen very few English players of late with the quality of Oscar, Neymar or Lucas for example.

Go and check out Josh McEachran.

I agree with Scott. It's all about balance and we just don't need another player of this type based on a few clips from You Tube.

Chalobah turns 18 next week, he's been immensely impressive for Watford on loan, and gained his first u21 call up.

He's due back in January, he has the physicality to hold his own, he should be getting games. This a player with natural leadership qualities, and has always played in the older age groups.

Usually I'd be against playing 18 year olds on a regular basis but this is a special player. Imo the best we've produced since John terry,

I think he would blossom in centre midfield alongside Ramires, and will wbe very much a world star by the age of 20, like Rooney, fabregas, Owen, messi etc. Future Chelsea captain.

Josh isn't as good as those players yet. He may very well be in a a year or two when he's the same age as them but not at the moment.

I highly doubt we are interested in this player 'based on a few clips from YouTube' he has been highly recommended to us by deco and the scout who picked out Wallace
