I can't bring myself to want either of them to win so I am hoping for a huge points deduction for Arsenal for w**kiness (putting them 18th, saving Wigan who, meanwhile, are winning the FA Cup) and two defeats for Tottenham. Meanwhile we throw the last game against Everton to put them above Tottenham on goal difference. Let's get it done

So many Chelsea fans on Twitter yesterday wanted Wigan to win yesterday.. so weird.

 

Basically cheering for Spurs if you wanted Wigan to win yesterday, rather have Arsenal doing what they have been doing for years, basically qualifying and going out early.

 

Will Spurs be able to hold on to Bale etc if they are in Europa again? really doubt it.

I genuinely believe that, should we not get 4th place, we will keep Bale for next season. That said, if we don't achieve something next season, he'll be gone.

If you then can still keep a hold of him it would be massive for you, think he will be very tempted to go though if they come knocking! Levy is someone who doesnt bend over easily though, just have to look back at when we wanted Modric.

I don't care about Spurs. I wanted Wigan to win because it means we cannot be caught in 3rd.

Sure, we all hate Spurs but the day where we want them to lose above our own team winning/having success will be a sad day. It's that kind of weak mentality the Spuds have themselves as do West Ham and QPR. I don't want us to ever go down that road. Spurs missing out on CL would be a bonus not the be all and all. In Munich my first thought wasn't that we'd knocked Spurs out the CL, it was that we had won the CL and etched our name in the history books.

I just think that Spurs would be a much bigger threat then Arsenal if they reached CL.

 

To be fair, dont think us or Arsenal would struggle if we had to play a play-off game to qualify to the group stages. I'm just happy we are safe in top 4, looked really far away before super frank stepped up v Villa.

No offence but I hope you're wrong! The board at Spurs is very astute so, if Bale does go, we'll definately get the best deal possible. I can't explain why (other than misplaced optimism) but I'm v hopeful of at least one more season with us.

Noted. Even if we get CL, someone is going to approach Spurs re. Bale. I have this feeling that he'll stay for another season but we could get offered a silly amount of money for him. Spurs are sound, financially, but we might find it hard to turn down forty-five to fifty million plus. IF he stays, the statement of intent from Spurs will be clear. We don't want to be a selling club, in general terms, imo as we are well placed now to get stronger next season.
