Surely that should read the other way round. I think the players were the ones who got Mancini the boot. He pissed off Hart & Kompany, 2 of the most important figures in that team. 

Think Kompany been pretty poor this season.

City's entire team have been poor this season.  Kompany would be a huge loss for them.

Quality player both on and off the pitch. 

Like him as a player and person, top top defender and would improve any side. Do we need him? No, would I take him? Absolutely! But then I'm just being greedy. Barca, Madrid or Bayern would be stupid not take a punt if he is unhappy.

Would love it, from a rival's perspective. His loss would be a massive blow to them and a boost to our hopes.

 

If he is going to go, maybe he would like to return to Germany. Then again, if Carlo is going to Madrid, I am sure job number 1 on his list is to get a volcanic hothead like Pepe out of the first team, and I can think of few top-level defenders in world football more un-Pepe like than Vincent Kompany.

He won't be coming to us as he strikes me as the respectful type and City wouldn't sell to a rival.  

 

There is a lot of talk of Aguero looking for a move as his son is at school abroad (not sure if he's in Spain or back in Argentina though) and he wants to be closer to him.  Perhaps this is why City are so involved in the Cavani/Falcao saga.

I've always thought that he appears a much poorer centre back if you don't play to his area of strength, which is heading and aerial battles.

Well Vinnie is Mr Man City. He absolutely loves the club and talks of retiring here any time his future is discussed. He signed a 5 year deal in the summer so why on earth would he leave... infact how much would any club have to play to buy one of the best CD in football from the richest club on earth?
