WHICH IS LEGAL !!.

It's a grey area.

So no it's not illegal.

Make up your mind. What would be ideal is if there was a trained legal mind who was aware of the ins and outs of the law, rather than just regurgitating spiel put on websites that sell these boxes.

The BT guy who fitted my infinity even said everyone should have one as they are great gadgets. I wonder why he didn't report me...

Thank the lord for that. :laugh2:

Bobby. Seriously, do some research and stop agreeing blindly with people who know no more than you do.

Hmm just like something Blue Daze would say

I can't be arsed getting into it, I know what I know.

Sorry, I really do not know whether to laugh or cry. It is not a grey area at all, stop thinking that.

In Chelsbear's defence, he didn't say it was a grey area. He said it was legal....just after he said it was a grey area.

If you ignore the bit where he says it's a grey area he quite clearly says's it's legal so I think you're being unfair by suggesting he said it's a grey area, despite him saying it's a grey area.

Actually he might have called it a grey area, but that's really a grey area. But he definitely did.

Android TV Boxes do not provide nor control the content, we simply install the Open Source software, XBMC/Kodi on your behalf. Your ISP will prevent you from accessing a couple of plugins, which we do not install and therefore your ISP (Internet Service Provider) will not detect you are watching said content.

Android TV Boxes do not agree with or promote the illegal streaming of unpurchased content. By agreeing to watch the content via XBMC, you agree that you have the appropriate license to watch such content, either by owning a copy of the film or TV shows. Android TV Boxes do not accept any responsibility for users streaming content that they do not own a license for.

So no it's not illegal.

You didn't understand this did you ? Otherwise you'll know that what they are doing is disclaiming responsibility and passing it to you as the viewer.

Oh sh*t....I actually didn't read the whole post because I thought it was marketing spiel but he actually posted that? :laugh2:  :laugh2:

Even if you agree with streaming or not (and there are probably moral arguments some could put) posting that and then claiming that streaming content you aren't licensed to....blimey.

It is astounding that people do not understand all this. The ease of access seems to make people believe they don't have the same responsibility they do if it was complex. I know so many people who do this and they just shrug their shoulders when told.

I guess it's like finding £5 on the street and believing it's not , actually, illegal to just keep it.

Unbelievable.

Manchester United have defended the conduct of their stewards after they removed walking aids from a number of disabled Arsenal fans.

One complaint sent to the charity Level Playing Field alleged that a man in his eighties had his crutches taken off him before the 17 May fixture.

United say fans using walking aids need to contact the club in advance to be risk-assessed.

To be honest i couldn't give a 2 sh*ts if watching streams is illegal and if Crem and Blue Daze want to take the moral high ground i'll say this to them. Have you ever listened or watched anything on Youtube that wasn't uploaded by the person that owns that content ? stuff like music or Sky's commentary of Drogba scoring the penalty that won us the Champions league ? I don't see how this any different than watching streamed sports events. With Youtube around you don't ever have to buy a song again.

Very good points, funnily enough I saw someone on the bus the other day listening to music through their phone and seeing their phone I saw they were listening off YouTube via wifi.

Two points. Firstly if the copyright holder wishes to remove that stuff then they can but I think there's a difference (you may disagree and I suspect you will) between streaming the live content suggested here (Champions League matches) when they're available on a platform that has a subscription cost and watching archival footage. Like I said, you may disagree that there's a distinction.

Secondly, many labels put music on Youtube (or a platform like vevo) and I doubt anyone is thick enough to think anyone listening to a song through youtube is automatically listening to an 'unlicensed' version.

You may think we're taking the moral high ground and that's perfectly fine. But look at it like this; this club makes a huge amount of money through TV deals. That's the modern world right? But why do these contracts have such value? Exclusivity. Live sports are increasingly valuable in the modern world for reasons I'm sure you're aware of. Now to put it in very simple terms, say the potential audience for something is 100 people and BT buy the rights to screen that. They're buying on the assumption they'd get the majority of that audience. What if 1 person watches a stream? Well the audience falls to 99.

What if 10?

What if 50?

What happens to the value of that contract? How much does the club get offered next time? Those are the actual implications devoid of morality.

Terrible points.

YouTube actively remove content that is not licensed. They do so because, unlike streaming sites, they don't disclaim to the viewer. Yes, I have no doubt watched something, accidentally, that was unlicensed but the onus is not on me with YouTube, it's with them.

Simply point but hope you understand the difference now.

Btw - when Bobby agrees with you, you should know you are on to a loser ;)

Here's a simple analogy between YouTube and streaming sites.

Streaming sites : you walk past the shopkeeper, put something in your pockets and walk out without paying for it. You are a thief.

YouTube : the shopkeeper hands you something, says you don't need to pay, and you walk out with it without paying. If the suppliers tells them they should not have given it away then the issue is between them and the supplier, it does not make you a thief.

Both free, One is illegal.

f**k you! Clearly you and BD are either the same person or you're just so far up each other's arses you have become one and the same.

...or we know what we are talking about. One of the three.

Or you're both c**ts, yep nailed it

Feel free to argue on any of the points we are making, btw, rather than just getting all angry and flustered because you know jack sh*t about, well, everything really ;)

Haha you keep telling yourself that, clear that you're blue daze not even good at disguising yourself.

And like I have said before, if you, or anyone else, has an ounce of nous you can find our IPs and prove that ( or not, as the case shall be).

I'm sorted. Got a disclaimer sticky noted to my TV that states anything shown on it is at the risk of the broadcasting company(s) and the viewers do not accept responsible for any of the signals it picks up or content it displays, no matter how much I fiddle with the box and dish.

Yawn you're so boring repeating yourself. Hmmm much like BD.

The other thing I'm like with BD, is we are both season tickets holders at the bridge, go to every game, both pay our sky subscriptions, and both realise that not doing so and using streaming sites just makes us plastic supporters.

You sound like a dipper now, well done been a c**t. Also you assume I actually use streaming sites I don't and everyone here who I actually give a damn about know my situation.

Ah... Diddums.

 enjoy school on Monday

Left school 32 years ago. You might want to look at seeing if you can get back in , that way you might learn something, or earn enough to pay to see a game.

BTW - when you start calling me obscenities, you step over a line and become a target. Carry on.
