Funnily enough i've seen a lot more respect and a lot less trolling//sh*t talking than when Gerrard retired on social media, definitely a more universally respected player and person.

It's about time, to be honest.  He's got a couple years left in him at Club level in the MLS.  So why add to the strain by also playing for an England team that needs something of a revival?
