Africa Cup of Nations 2015

Morocco will not be hosting the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015 due to the Ebola Crisis. No announcement yet as to where it will be hosted.

Morocco will not host the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations because of its fears over the Ebola outbreak elsewhere on the continent, the Confederation of African Football (Caf) has confirmed.

However Caf did not announce a new venue for the tournament, due to take place from 17 January to 8 February.

It said it had had "some applications of national associations confirming their desire to host the competition".

Caf expelled Morocco, who would have qualified as hosts, from the finals.

Sucks for Morocco who qualified automatically and have been kicked out, that's pretty stupid of CAF.

AFCON is actually good for us for once, used to be we'd lose half our team but now we get to lose Mikel while City lose Toure.

Morocco has asked if the tournament can be postponed until 2016. Am guessing that FIFA as well as CAF would have to agree to that. If it did go ahead next year we would only lose Salah and Mikel.

Who do we lose to the tournament, just Mikel and Salah isn't it?

At this moment in time I would call that a blessing in disguise.

On that basis what are the chances of them starting the tournament tomorrow and keep it running until May?!!

I understand the reasoning behind it but from what I've gathered Morocco isn't in any immediate danger of having any Ebola outbreaks soon. It doesn't even border the countries that have Ebola outbreaks at the present time.

It will be interesting to see how this transpires though.
