How much profit can we (will we) make on our loanee players?

Featured Replies

The latest talk is thorgan hazard is ready to be sold for 8-10 million. We bought him for 800k, so essentially we could potentially make over 7 million in profit for him. I understand that hazard is just one of a handful who will command that kind of profit, however, how much could each of these loanees be sold for, realistically?

- Bertrand Traore

- Van Ginkel

- Wallace

- Patrick Bamford

- Oriol Romeu

- Stipe Perica

- Lucas Piazon

- Mario Pesalic

- Josh Mceachran

- Kenneth Omerou

- Tomas Kalas

- Victor Moses

- Marko Marin

- Gael Kakuta

- Nathaniel Chalobah

- Christian Atsu

- Ryan Bertrand

- Patrick Bamford

I personally think we could potentially make a profit of around 50-60 million for the list of players above. By the age of 21/22, you can tell how much potential a player has; unfortunately most of these players have reached their potential and are surplus to requirements, and it's unlikely they'll ever make it to the first team.

If you include a couple of first team players, such as Salah, Mikel and Cech, then we could make around 80 million which, for players surplus to requirements, is a brilliant profit.

Anyway, your thoughts?

Edit: Actually, are reviewing it, think realistically we could make more like 40 million profit on that list of loanees.

Realistically I'd say about:

- Bertrand Traore - £1.5m

- Van Ginkel - I'd like us to keep him, but maybe £5m

- Wallace - £2m

- Patrick Bamford - I'd like to keep him. But if we sold him, about £2m

- Oriol Romeu - £3m

- Stipe Perica - £500k

- Lucas Piazon - £2m

- Mario Pesalic - Never heard of him

- Josh Mceachran - £1m

- Kenneth Omerou - £1.5m

- Tomas Kalas - £1.5m

- Victor Moses - £2.5m

- Marko Marin - £4m

- Gael Kakuta - £1.5m

- Nathaniel Chalobah - £1m

- Christian Atsu - £1m

- Ryan Bertrand- £7m

Has anyone been following Chalobah's development over the past year or so? What's he been like? I remember him being hyped a fair bit just a few years ago.

Chalobah's loan has ended and is now back at chelsea. It will be interesting to see what José does with him. I'm not expecting much, but one can always hold out hope.

The likes of Pasalic, MvG, Bamford, Chalobah, Piazon and Traore are very good talents who are still too young to be judged on how good they'll be. It's a lottery because any of them could stagnate or in some cases blossom, a la Matic. The club would be stupid to cash-in now. 21-24 is generally when a better estimate of their potential can take place.

Right now I'd say on average probably 4 million profit per player. But there is a potentially huge upside to holding on to the better talents - Traore, Pasalic and Chalobah in particular.

He's just returned from a loan stint at Burnley which was considered a 'failure' in many peoples eyes.
