I have long admired him. He has a similarities in his style of play to Super Frank and has bags of experience for a 24 year old. Would be a superb fit alongside Matic IMO.

 

I doubt the Specialist In Failure would sell him but never say never in football.

Can't see Arsenal selling him to us, especially now they have a good bit of money behind them.

He'd also cost a bomb given he's playing in the EPL.

Better options out there who would be cheaper.

What would he realistically cost?

 

£30m? Maybe more? 

 

Considering his record with injuries I can't see us wanting to invest that sort of money on him.

Here what you say but I would shell out £30 million for him in a heartbeat. At only 24 years old he could be fantastic value if he continues to progress as he has done.

 

The recent injury record would need careful examination but like Lampard he is the epitome of a modern day central midfielder. He can defend, pass and has the positional sense, movement and finishing ability to score goals.

Who would you replace in the first 11 for him?

I can only really think of Oscar given the two midfielder behind him are better players than Ramsey IMO and fit our style more.

Given we have spent shy of £60 million on the right hand side I can't see him being shifted out there, unless we sold either Willian or Cuardado (which is highly unlikely).

I do think we need more option in central midfield but not sure this would be the best option given the price and obviously his injury problems.

Sanchez is obviously quality but they won't let him go and he'd probably fetch about £45-50m now.

In the theoretical world that he were to move to Chelsea I think he could be the right winger that Schurrle was supposed to be, fast, direct, scoring lots from midfield and chipping in with a lot of assists. Really like and rate him as a player. 

£30 million for someone who has actually regressed this season is a massive gamble, especially when I'm not sure he gets into our starting XI.

He'd be home grown which would obviously be a big help.

I'd wait a few months to see how his injury has impacted him, always wary of players out for a long period like Falcao. He has been in good form since returning so far though.

He'd be a big layout too no doubt since he's on a long term contract.

I think Sanchez while being more expensive would be a better option footballing wise (maybe not in terms of our foreign quota) he really is the one player who constantly stands out for them.

The one critisism I have since Jose came back is spending nearly £60 million on two players who are not on the same level as Sanchez who in our system would IMO offer far more attacking wise than the two wingers we brought in.

Last season Le Arse's win ratio with Ramsey in the side was 71%. For the games he was absent, it dropped to 55%. Fully fit, he is the most important player they have, much more so than Sanchez.

Hmmm I don't think he's on the same level as Cecs who is a far better passer and who provides more assists than Ramsey.

He'd probably be more 'busier' and offer more tracking back but in terms of goal creating and natuaral ability Cesc is far better IMO.

3 goals this season, and the same number of hamstring injuries.

Definitely a better finisher but not sure if he's much better defensively, especially this season when he's been pushed further back and not shown the same tenacity that he did last season.

 

Plus you'd lose Fabregas's creativity and tempo setting in the middle of the park.

This goal was a bit filth though. 

 

We've not hit like that so far this season... One of the things I miss about not having Frank any more, he was good for a few good goals outside the area every season. 

 

We seem scared to shoot outside the box, other than a few attempts by Willian I can't think of too many attempts.

Matic isn't really known for long drives and neither is Cesc so we are relying on the likes of Oscar and the attacking mids but other than Hazard no one really delivers.

It's something I think we need to work on IMO, the neat play and trying to pass it in is nice when it comes off but you also need to take a chance when nothing is working like Willian done against Everton.

I was hoping Oscar would have provided this but not really seen it so far, the new boy Cuardado I can't see being a prolific scorer of those types of goals either.

That's the important bit - He's been nowhere near that level this year.

You would think though that we need to add some more HG players to our squad given we are likely to lose Terry in the next couple of years.

Most of the ones we mention on here would cost a fortune unless we did a Ash Cole type swap deal but those are rare.

Ramsey is an absolutely brilliant player... for about three months a season.

 

For the other six he is either injured or drops horribly off form. If he can produce his best performances consistently then I am all for it, otherwise I don't think he is worth the outlay. He does have the advantage of being homegrown though.

No way Ramsey is better than fabregas. I don't think he would start for us, he is constantly injured, he would cost a ridiculous amount, and it's a mute point because arsenal wouldnt even sell him to us.

If there was one British talent i'd take it would be Barkley, hes off the boil this season but he looks like a raw talent that needs polishing into something special.

No doubt he's quality but I don't think Arse wants to sell him to us.
