May 8, 201610 yr what possibly could be the enjoyment that you would find seeing players clapping?? To show some appreciation for the loyal fans who sold out there allocation to a game which the fans turned up when some of the players didn,t.
May 8, 201610 yr what possibly could be the enjoyment that you would find seeing players clapping?? Its called appreciating the fans who have turned up, many having travelled for 8hrs or more at great expense. Its called mutual respect, sadly a lot of players don't fully understand this from within their own little privileged world.
May 8, 201610 yr i thought that players always went and clapped their travelling fans Wouldn't take much would it? I'm guessing it's because JT wasn't on the pitch to tell them what to do, which doesn't bode well.
May 8, 201610 yr Just another indication of the poor job Hiddink has done, as he constantly talks about getting away from relegation zone as some kind of achievement...well, when we beat Southampton in February, we closed to within four points of them...but they're now above West Ham in sixth - 12 points above chelsea in ninth...Hiddink likes to make out that qualifying for Europe was high on impossible from position he took over, but that's clearly bollox...if Southampton coukd go on a run to get in top six, then so should we
May 9, 201610 yr We were better first half second half they wanted it more Anyone agree that defoe would be better at us than wasting time with pato and falcao Hear, hear!
May 9, 201610 yr Held off posting in here because I've been too angry about the game and the result. For us to have led twice and lost is shambolic. To concede three goals when the team contains two dedicated holding midfield players is embarrassing. Hiddink saying he wouldn't play any youth to maintain integrity and for us to follow it up with that sh*t on a stick performance unforgivable. I'm still wrapping my head around sacking Jose when we've had to endure sh*t like this since he went. Edited May 9, 201610 yr by ForeverCarefree
May 9, 201610 yr To show some appreciation for the loyal fans who sold out there allocation to a game which the fans turned up when some of the players didn,t. +1 on that. Back in the day players like Joey Jones didn't just turn and give a quick clap, they walked over and applauded the fans to show what it meant. Doubt the overpaid mob there now care.
May 9, 201610 yr +1 on that. Back in the day players like Joey Jones didn't just turn and give a quick clap, they walked over and applauded the fans to show what it meant. Doubt the overpaid mob there now care. Players still do that, our players included. From what I understand, this is the first time this season that no one has applauded the fans. Very disappointing considering that the fans traveled a not insignificant distance to support them.
May 9, 201610 yr what possibly could be the enjoyment that you would find seeing players clapping?? The away fans always deserve a thank you. (Unless they are/were abusing players) Maybe if the players had spent many years as away fans, they would have more empathy. As it is, most of them are professional players by the time they are old enough to know what it's like to spend money to travel many hours to support the team you love.
May 10, 201610 yr Yep, Sunderland are going to be right up for this game. Be interesting to see if we have the mental capacity to put in a real shift, might actually work more favorably to give some young ens a go.. I'd put costa, willian and dave on ice for this one Zero mental capacity
