Posted May 4, 20168 yr Next up, Sunderland away! I would write more but I'm in a rush. Sorry. Edited May 4, 20168 yr by Huttsey
May 4, 20168 yr          Begovic Azpi   Cahill    Terry   Baba              Mikel      RLC       Fabregas Traore              Hazard          Pato  Gone for Begovic in net. Courtois will be number one but i'd keep him rested until the end of the season and start next season from scratch.  Gone for a pretty straight forward defense. Terry should be played until the end of the season if he is to leave at the end of the season. I also think Baba will play better with Terry next to him much like Zouma did. Hopefully he can then build his confidence before next season. Would be tempted to give Aina a go at RB but i doubt that'd happen and the full backs would be too weak each side.  Mikel playing so he can do all the guarding and let RLC and Fabregas have a bit more freedom to their play.  Hazard seems to be hitting form so should let him carry on in the swing of things. RW could go to anyone be it Traore, Kenedy, Pedro, Willian or another youth player but i went with Traore because i think he's offered the most this season. Pato up top because i think he has more to offer. We don't have a pacey, nimble player to stick up top (other than Traore, but he's on the wing for now). I wouldn't be against Pato staying next season if he's cheap as a back up so i'd give him game time.  I'd like to see Kenedy and maybe another youth player (Palmer, JCS etc.) off the bench at some point but that probably won't happen. Guus doesn't like making substitutions remember!  Nothing to play for so get the kids out there to have fun.
May 4, 20168 yr Prediction... Â Match: Drab 0-0 or 1-1 draw. Fans: 90 Minutes of abuse aimed at Spurs.
May 4, 20168 yr I think Courtois will start. I'm indifferent about who starts in goal.  Sunderland will be playing for their lives, and Allardyce has a good record of squeaking out relegation escapes. I wouldn't be surprised if they resort to some dirty tactics. I see us losing this one or at most getting a draw.  Good opportunity to play some youth. Then for the final game put our strongest lineup so we can hopefully send JT off with a home win.Â
May 4, 20168 yr I think Sunderland are a poor footballing side and if we move the ball quickly we should come out with a win even if we have a couple of youngsters getting some minutes.
May 4, 20168 yr As long as JT plays I don't care who the other XI starters are. Really not looking forward to seeing the Captain, Leader and Legend play for the club for the last time I want to see him play as much as I can before then.
May 4, 20168 yr I'd like to see this team, lets face it our season finished on Monday so we should finally give some proper chances to youth along with the players who have a point to prove.             Coutois Ivan - Tomori/Miazga - Terry - Da Silva       RLC - Colkett - Matic    Kenedy      -         Hazard             Traore Edited May 4, 20168 yr by PedroMendez
May 5, 20168 yr Is Costa injured or suspended for this game? I think it will be a draw, Sunderland will be desperate and try every chicks in the book, and we all know how Big Sam likes to play. I wouldn't rest players for this game, we deserve some good performance from them.
May 5, 20168 yr I was thinking about the 2013-2014 season...these bums stopped CFC from winning the title - perfect way to pay them back by beating them in their own house & sending them down to the Championship w/ Villa
May 5, 20168 yr Yep, Sunderland are going to be right up for this game.Be interesting to see if we have the mental capacity to put in a real shift, might actually work more favorably to give some young ens a go.. I'd put costa, willian and dave on ice for this one
May 5, 20168 yr Let's test our youth.  ----------------------- Begovic ------------------------  Aina ---------- Terry ----- Clarke-Salter ------- Baba Rahman  ------------------------ Matic --------------------------  -------------- Loftus-Cheek -- Fabregas --------------  Bertrand Traore ----------------------------- Hazard  ---------------------- Abraham ----------------------------   Come on CHELS!
May 5, 20168 yr IMHO we should play our strongest team. Would rather Norwich stayed up than either Sunderland or Newcastle. Norwich is closer and easier to get to. Plus not a fat Sam fan.
May 5, 20168 yr I think the u21 game Friday will be of interest to everyone with their hopes of team selection for Sunderland. Anyone of note not selected to play Man U must be traveling up to Sunderland.
May 5, 20168 yr Given that this game is much more important for Sunderland than it us for us, I wouldn't be surprised if they won, Â but I'm equally confident about us getting a positive result. I also think that this would be a good opportunity for our youth players, and I would like to see Amelia get a chance in goal, but Begovic will probably get the nod
May 6, 20168 yr It would be a tiny bit hilarious if we lost this and the Leciester game and Spuds won both of theirs, then it really would be our result that doomed them. But obviously I'd rather us win, top half of the table finish FOR THE WIN!!!!!

May 6, 20168 yr Hope for more of the same from the second 45 of the Spu*s game. We play like that and it will hopefully help to condemn Sunderland & Fat Sam to the Championship where they both belong.
May 6, 20168 yr Agreed re more of the second half attitude and display v Spurs tomorrow please. Come on the Blues.
May 6, 20168 yr Kinda expecting to see this one. I felt so positive after the spurs game. Probably we'll go back to apathy here and lose 2-1. Hope not.
May 6, 20168 yr Begovic Azpi Cahill JT Baba RLC Matic Colkett Kenedy Traore Hazard Colkett played tonight for u21s
May 6, 20168 yr I bet we'll play a full strength team. Â Field a weakened one and Norwich, Newcastle, others in the league will claim that we didn't honour the integrity of the league. Â Only way we can get around that is to play RLC and Berty as they've both got some prem experience alreadyÂ

For all Guus's talk about playing the youth players, all he's done is given RLC & BT a bit more than they were getting.
