I remember watching that. The handball for Scotland's first goal from the penalty spot is still debated. If VAR had been available it may not have been a penalty. Was the handball by the Welsh defender or Joe Jordan. Some great players on the pitch.

Image result for coventry city 1990s away strip This simply awful Coventry City away strip from the late 1970s, was mentioned on another thread.

Think the player wearing it in this photo, is the Scottish International player, Ian Wallace. The worst ever British team away strip I have ever seen.

64417C21-D6C5-4E22-AB55-71E4CFA51A5E-300 John Charles with Juventus team mates Omar Sivori and Giampiero Boniperti. I've read these three were called ‘The Holy Trident’.

John Charles scored 93 goals in 155 games for Juventus during his time there !  'Il Gigante Buono' 'The Gentle Giant' He had  no yellow or red cards throughout his career !

Remember watching Scotland v England Home Internationals on the telly late 70s/ early 80s.

England went one nil up, but the Hampden Roar just got louder. Remember saying to the old man “ Great Support seeing as their loosing”

With that the camera panned onto a group of smiling calaedonians all supping tins of McEwans.

Old Man “ There so smashed they haven’t got a clue what the score is”

Some supporters used to save up for two whole years to come down to Wembley for the England v Scotland game. T

There were 'Wembley clubs' in various places of employment back then.

Interested employees would sign up to go and they would to put in money to their fund every week for the two years  eg. June 1975 to May 1977.

It didn't matter to some , perhaps many, if they didn't actually get a match ticket, It was their 'Wembley Weekend' .
