Of course it was stupid and dangerous but did he fully realise that? Several teenagers all over the world even drink and drive with complete misplaced confidence that they can do no wrong. Most of them understand quite soon that what they are doing is wrong and dangerous and stop doing it but only very few get into trouble. How about speeding then? Even much older people struggle to realise or understand the dangers of speeding. I believe that speeding is statistically more dangerous to others than the lack of a license. How many on here have got a speeding ticket? Are all of you (us) dickheads? Or is someone a dickhead only if he gets into trouble? A dickhead understands the dangers of what he/she is doing but with immaturity comes delusion which excuses them not from the consequences of wrong doing but from a character stain. He will hopefully learn soon and if he doesn't, we can justifiably judge his character for the worse. Edited February 10, 20179 yr by ashwin

February 10, 20179 yr I see we have plenty of ultra squeaky clean law abiding citizens who have never endangered anyone's life by driving above the speed limit, or been on the phone when driving, or had one pint/glass of wine with a meal and driven a car, or parked illegally........... Your'e either saints or bullsh*tters.

By breaking the law he endangered others. In this case they are one and the same and part of the same issue argument. Why doesn't Tammy have a licence and why doesn't he have insurance? If he is still a learner then he needs to ensure he insurance and should take responsibility for making sure he can legally drive the car. If he's had his license revoked, for whatever, then he shouldn't be anywhere near the driver's seat of a car. Either way it's his fault and taking a lackadaisical approach to road safety is moronic.
February 10, 20179 yr Very silly boy - can't believe anyone is making light of this or comparing it to a speeding offence! Funnily enough I've just got done for speeding - 39MPH in a 30MPH zone at 1.00am on a Sunday morning when there was nothing else on the road. Wouldn't compare that to getting behind the wheel with no licence and no Insurance! Really disappointed with him as up to now, Tammy has come across as a very bright and switched on kid and has done everything right. Driving without a licence and uninsured is really poor form - I know it happens but it shouldn't and there is NO excuse for a lad like him who is no doubt a lot wealthier than the majority of 19 year-olds. All youngsters struggle to get Insurance but there is NO excuse for someone like Tammy on the money he is on. He'll get what he deserves and when he does eventually get his licence back and needs to insure a car it will rightly cost him a whole lot more. Edited February 10, 20179 yr by Nibs

Wouldn't compare that to getting behind the wheel with no licence and no Insurance! First of all, no one is making light of this. Please read my posts again and let me know how anything I say makes light of the offence. The comparison with speeding was only brought up for 2 reasons. 1) All of you believe that you were not endangering anyone's life but that is subjective. He believed that he wasn't endangering anyone's life and he could drive perfectly well. You believed the same. Please realise that the reason you are excusing yourself is exactly how he can excuse himself. Clear double standards here. 2) You are breaking the law. If this is indeed the issue, how do you get to say when it is alright and dangerous to break the law and when it isn't? Going by your reasoning, your speeding offence would make you a dickhead. If I stay consistent with my reasoning, you aren't a dickhead, only a hypocrite.

Coco, you surely cannot be serious? I would imagine that for whatever reason, 99% of motorists have exceeded the speed limit at some point. If everyone kept to the speed limits the country would grind to a halt. Not saying i's okay to speed, but we all use our common sense and judgement. I wouldn't drive down a residential street like a madman or drive fast past a school but I would drive above the speed limit at 1.00am in the morning when there was not another vehicle around (unfortunately this time to my cost!!) But driving without a licence and not being Insured is a Moral Offence. It's bad - a LOT worse than a fixed penalty speeding offence. That's why it carries much higher penalties and fines and the consequences are more severe. I know a fair number of Insurers will not quote for someone who has had such convictions.

February 11, 20179 yr It was stupid but we don't fully know the full story about how this happened. Maybe he was supposed to have someone drive him and they didn't turn up and he took the risk - yes stupid - so he could get to training (he's obviously now under pressure to perform with Matt Taylor joining). He (apparently) only doesn't have a license because he speeded (again stupid). yes stupid, but a 19 year old makes mistakes and I bet he feels like an absolute idiot. Could be worse, could be drunk the day after 9/11 at an airport and insulting Americans. Some learn from stupid mistakes and become better people/footballers. Either way, 2 goals today against derby.

Can't they just be normal people instead of acting like twats all of the time ? Normal people are involved in this daily. We just don't hear it cos they are normal people. Plus 80% of the football population are below 28 i will estimate. Not really mature people especially given the fact they have been exposed to the fast life at a tender age.
