Liverpool - isn't Mourinho right?

Featured Replies

Jose had it right IMO when he said Klopp has to stop finishing 2nd or 3rd and deliver this season. Especially with the acker they have spent this summer. Klopp is starting to resemble a tooth whitened, hair transplanted version of our Claudio. Always close but no cigar.

They seem to get a free media pass because of what they did 30 years ago. 2018/19 must surely be win it or jog on Jurgen.

You're right, he's not wrong, with the amount Liverpool have spent, they should be challenging for the biggest trophies this season, there shouldn't be any excuses if they fail.

Jurgen Klopp has been lucky. To keep his reputation high after losing 6 out of 7 cup finals and the laughable final season at Dortmund is unheard of in today's game. Any other top coach would be ripped apart for that.

Tooth whitened? Have you seen Klopp recently...

Yup for sure. Huge investment since Klopp joined in exactly the sort of players to deliver his style of game. They have recruited very well the rest is down to what he can deliver as a manager.

For me his style is better suited to one off cup games. Hard to deliver over a whole year at that intensity.

Top 6 managers under pressure.

Pep = 1 (He could finish bottom and still keep his job)

Emery = 3 (Needs to show progress, but overall very little pressure, top 8 and he will stay)

Sarri = 5 (A short honeymoon at Chelsea is the norm, needs to be in top 6 to be here next season, taking into consideration our lack of patients with managers).

Poch = 7 (This season he really needs some silverware, if he doesn't get any this could be his last season).

Klopp = 8 (To follow last season with improvement is going to be tough for Klopp, now the excuse of not spending big has been given up, in return silverware is a must, anything less is a failure).

Jose = 10 (He's been in tighter spots before and got out of it, but things do not look good for him, i think his head will go first, but never right him off)

Agree, that Klopp, JM and Poch are all vulnerable this season.

Sarri, will have a little time.

Surprised that Spurs have not been more active in the transfer market.

I'm not, they haven't been for a while now because of the stadium. They got very lucky really that they managed to get a strong squad together and get a young player to push through like Harry Kane, they would have ended up a mid table team if they didn't.

Even allowing for the stadium rebuild just feel squads need refreshing or become too complacent. Believe this is a strategic blunder and they will miss out on the top 4.

Neither the Pool fans and the media will put any weight on him.........he can finish 6th and still have his job without being dissed or slaughtered in the media..........and you can take that to the bank as some say.

I'm not so sure - Liverpool fans I know are trying to play it down but you can tell they really believe this will be their year.

This! Klopp will get an easy ride, unless they finish in the bottom half that is. Never known a least deserving team to get so much praise!

3-4 bad results and the tide will turn, no club are immune to criticism.

He has had plenty of shocking results before.......some laughed, some cried, but never thrown to the Wind by the media. We lost our first game of the season as champions and Conte was suddenly under the weight of a country. Man I hope they fail once Again.

Its always their f**king year..........problem is you can clearly see Progress, vision and planning with pool now. That will buy klopp away from a few good beatings.

They were slaughtering him when he lost 3 home games on the spin, and the media spent years trying to get Rafa sacked.

Thats becuase rafa was starting to falter.......no way they wanted him out while he was doing a good job fighting utd and Chels. At the end of day there is just no way someone like Klopp wil get the same treatment as our managers. Theres a clear clear difference how their darlings are treated compared to ours, imo.
