Posted October 29, 20195 yr I've just read a great article by Pat Nevin on the Chelsea site : https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2019/10/29/pat-nevin-asks-how-alternative-chelsea-line-up-would-perform-in- It's got me thinking about what starting xi you think is the strongest out of our last starting line-up against Burnley, or the alternative xi containing our missing/injured players. So my question is - which one of these teams do you think would win if they played against each other? Team against Burnley: Kepa Azpi Zouma Tomori Alonso Jorginho Kovacic Willian Mount Pulisic Tammy Alternative xi: Kepa James Rudiger Christensen Emerson Kante Loftus-Cheek Pedro Barkley CHO Batshuayi Both teams look great to me and it's a very hard call! I'd probably side slightly with the alternative xi for one reason only - Kante. Our squad is really starting to look formidable - the future is bright!
October 29, 20195 yr I think the WINNER here is the fact that you have enough talents to field two very competitive teams.

Puts into perspective how good we've been in terms of coaching and squad management. In 1 transfer banned window, our board let Hazard, Zappacosta, Higuain, Moses and etc. go whilst only bringing in Pulisic and Kovacic yet we've looked stronger for it.
October 30, 20195 yr Two very even teams. I know which team I'll be rooting for though. Chelsea! (Actually, seeing as Kante, Loftus Cheek and Hudson Odoi are all in the second one, I'd probably be marginally more pleased if that xi won.) Edited October 30, 20195 yr by GhostOfDembaBa
October 30, 20195 yr Didn't really think about it until now, but its pretty amazing how we have almost 2 full teams that are both looking great on paper! I dont think many teams can actually do that in the league. Even Liverpool would struggle to put out a alternative XI as good as ours. Only obvious team is City, but they don't even count really.
October 30, 20195 yr Alternative xi for me. However, when everyone is fit we're going to look dangerous. Kepa Azpi Rudiger Tomori Emerson Jorginho Kante Pulisic Mount Callum Tammy Crazy that half of our best players are youth players. Edit: Probably swap Mount out for RLC actually.
