forbzy Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 I must admit I'm no longer holding out much hope that City can get anything here but we can dream at least. Up until last week I thought this was a potential banana skin for United. Local derbies are always tough and United have just had a tough trip away in Europe. But City seem to be in a mess with this whole Barton/Dabo incident so it is a good time for United to play them I think.
Loud and Proud Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 I think City might do it. United played away from home wednesday and will be really tired. And with a saturday 12:45 kick off too. Doesn't leave much time to rest. They lose to City, we beat the Arse, we beat them a the Bridge and then it's down to the final game of the season. I can see it now.

2k. Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 got to hold on to some sort of hope, even if it's only a glimmer....

Don't think I haven't considered that scenario mate. But having just managed to accept that the league was good as over after Saturday I'm trying not to get dragged back into that whirlpool. If your prediction is still looking good come Monday though I'm sure we will all be opening up our doors to possible pain again ;)

We've got the Arse, they've got the Manc derby. Incidentally, did you know that the word "manky" meaning substandard, non-working, crap was originally an abbreviation of Mancunian. True. Just as "Brum" is a shortened version of Brummagen meaning showy, flashy, cheap.
Tim W Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 City haven't got a chance, manure's youth team would walk all over them. Famous last words
abramovich Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Richards and Barton out for City. I doubt they could even manage a draw.

If we can beat Arsenal on Sunday we force United to come to our place with the title still undecided regardless of how they do against City.

Gem Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Not confident at all - City are sh*t I don't even think a draw is good enough... but I'm sure IF City do get anything it'll just prolong the inevitable. We blew out chance.
Lofty Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 I havn't even got the radio on. I think I'll listen to some music or something.
Virosh Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 United just scored. Ronaldo's penalty. Sorry, all hope lost.
andy89231 Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 sh*t, van der sar saves a penalty...game over now And now Manure wasting times in the last 5 minutes of the game...
munichblue Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 sh*t, van der sar saves a penalty...: No, it wasn't a save from Van Der Saar, it was a misplay from the twat Varssell.....
Lofty Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 That's it then. City lost to a penalty and in the second half missed a penalty themselves. That's the way it's gone for the red half of Mancland this season, as far as the Premiership goes, anyway. A telling quote "credit to United for grinding out another away victory". Nobody's going to remember the large amount of good fortune they had this season, just as nobody will remember all the luck we didn't have. Over the length of the season, yes of course the team that finishes on top deserve to be there. But along the way you get so many ifs, ands, buts and maybes ... what might have been .. what could have been. Ah well there's still the FA Cup. And we've still got Milan to cheer for in the Champions League Final.
andy89231 Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Well it doesnt matter....Our only hope now is for Wet Spam to win their last game of the season...at OLD TRAFFORD. nd im not surprised tomorrow if fergie joins the relegation candicates asking FA to deduct wet spam's points... I just hope we can win all of our remaining games, i'd hate it if they have to celebrate their title at Stamford Bridge.
Backbiter Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 i'd hate it if they have to celebrate their title at Stamford Bridge. Whereas the rest of us are looking forward to paying gracious tribute.......
andy89231 Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Even Wet spam is now raping Bolton 3-0.....while we can't even beat them last week. Sigh... I just hope they can continue their good form when they meet Manure next week....

Sigh...I just hope they can continue their good form when they meet Manure next week.... The simple answer to that is .. why couldn't Sam Allardyce have resigned a week or so sooner? Ifs ands and buts ....
The Brit Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 utd have had their name on the trophy for most of the season, so many things have gone their way, so many things have gone against us...they could have only got one point out of the last two games, but thanks to the muppets who were their opponents they got away with it...everton 2-0 up and gifted two of the worst goals in history and then vassell hits a shi*e pen today...oh well, hopefully it will turn round next year...people may say we had fortune in our first two seasons, we did at times, but I think we were far superior anyway and were so far ahead we never had to rely on luck going our way...utd have had it all this season
