September 20, 20223 yr This is what happens when you air your laundry in public. Boehly et al need to get with the programme pretty bl00dy quickly that there is undoubtedly an agenda behind the scenes to discredit and undermine the club at every juncture. The latest one. Graham Potter now wants to sign Harry Kane. Really? really, he has made an offer or approach to Tottenham has he? Absolute bollox designed to try to undermine him and the club through national media regarding soemthing completely unrealistic from the outset when we all know that Levy will never sell to Chelsea. Who wouldn't like to sign Harry Kane. I'd like to shag Salma Hayek, and i'll openly admit it. I haven't actually approached her about the idea though. Complete tosh continually trying to undermine Boehly, the management, and the club generally. We need to do our business, fck off all these social media clowns like this Romano and make announcement through the press once deals are completed.
September 20, 20223 yr It seems like RB are just going to squeeze more out of Boehly with the Freund hire getting public before negotiations really take place or are completed. Leicester, Brighton, and Barcelona to an extent were all able to tack on extra fees after seemingly having deals wrapped up and this seems to be another instance of that.
September 20, 20223 yr Author Think this summer has showed who we should and shouldn't do business with in the future. With our vulnerability out for the world to see, we know which clubs took advantage of it and which clubs didn't.
September 20, 20223 yr The best ran clubs are such tight ships you rarely hear about what they're doing until they do it. Since Bohely came in there are so many leaks and so many public rejections even even after we've apparently agreed deals I'll be amazed if the club manages to stay afloat with 10 years of Todd. It's pure embarrassment. Edited September 20, 20223 yr by HazardousChoice
September 20, 20223 yr Another one bites the dust. Hopefully we've got other candidates in mind so we can get them in before January.
September 20, 20223 yr You got to love it when the ITKs are so sure of something and get it so badly wrong. Is hilarious, and twice in quick succession with Kounde as well. And some on here worship them as gospel truth 🤣 Edited September 20, 20223 yr by axman2526
September 20, 20223 yr Freund confirmed we wanted him, held talks and offered him terms. While saying he was proud of being wanted by us he had talked with their CEO, and they both confirmed after those talks they decided he would remain at RBS. First someone unemployed turns down a huge offer, now someone turns down a move from the Austrian league to the PL. Where do you ever hear of that? Yet we managed it. It is hilarious 😂

September 20, 20223 yr Author Agreeing terms without even speaking with either employer. Surely we will get fined for this?
September 20, 20223 yr Supposedly that means Monacos Paul Mitchell is next on the list, who supposedly is keen, though will he still be being 3rd choice and after he talks to Todd?

September 20, 20223 yr Author Freund genuinely leveraged his position to get a wage increase at RB. Respect.

There are a lot of concerns about his running of the club. His first bit of business was good in Sterling but then we follow that with recruiting a past it 31 year old on a 5 year deal, paying double the value for Cucurella, spending an age chasing Gordon and Fofana only to not get the former and overpay hugely for the latter, recruit a striker last minute for a manager he sacks days later, loan a midfielder that neither TT or Potter appears to be interested in using, selling Werner for Peanuts, loaning a 100mill player, keeping Ziyech and Pulisic, sacking a manager after spending 300mill with him in a window, and now being made to look a Muppet by not 1 but 2 director of footballers. The first is unemployed, the second works, no disrespect intended, in the Austrian league. He is supposed to be an incredible businessman and sportsman, but how? Is he like a players and just loses it at a certain age?
September 20, 20223 yr And word from the man himself, via Sky sports. Freund rejected Chelsea sporting director role Red Bull Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund has said he has turned down the chance to take up a similar role at Chelsea. Freund had been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as part of new owner Todd Boehly's revamp of the club's administration. Quoted in a statement issued by the Austrian club, Freund said: "As I have already confirmed in interviews, Chelsea FC was interested in me. "When such a big club asks, it not only honours me and the work of FC Red Bull Salzburg, it is of course also a circumstance that entails personal considerations. "But I've come to the conclusion that I'm in the best of hands with FC Red Bull Salzburg and that a change is out of the question for me." Can you imagine we agreed a deal for one of their players and he turned us down to stay there in the Austrian league? This is huge egg on face again for Todd.

I'm very confident of a great future for Chelsea under the new ownership. Whilst things haven't been perfect so far, we've been very unlucky with transfers and a big positive is that we're not stuck under an ownership that doesn't have ambition. Boehly has stated he knows he isn't a football expert, hence why he's looking to bring in people to take over that aspect. Overall we've been unlucky with the timing of the sale, senior figures leaving, players out of contract, a list of underperforming players wanting to leave and players choosing to go to other clubs.

September 20, 20223 yr It’s not even the failure to close which is embarrassing but the constant leak of information that’s more of concern. It seems like every time Todd’s failed to close something, it has already been made public that he’s attempted to complete a deal. I’m sure other clubs try and fail all the time but everything is behind the scenes and leaks are limited. I’d be looking around at how this all constantly gets out there as it seems bad for business and has only made negotiations harder

Nothing new...
September 20, 20223 yr I hope Freund goes to Barca soon, at least that's a bit of consolation for Boehly - it's Barca, everyone just prefer them than us. He rather stays in Austria than join Chelsea, just showed the level of pulling power Boehly has. Wouldn't be surprised if Emma Hayes leave soon, didn't the women team just lost a game on the weekend?
