Modern football is so stupid. All of these newly promoted teams and teams at the bottom end of the table lose every game trying to play similar football to the teams at the top and get caught out every time. Southampton go 1 up against Arsenal, and instead of being a bit cautious and prepare for Arsenal stepping up their game, they continue to play the same way and concede a goal almost instantly.

With Everton now allegedly close to a takeover, watch them sack Dyche and hire a young, obscure possession oriented coach who will finally relegate them

7 games played, and only one team has failed to score against Manchester City ... 🙂

They certainly look nowhere near as dominant when missing just a couple of key players (Rodri, De Bruyne). Imagine how they'd look with 10-12 out including half the best starting XI, like we had all last season ...

Title challangers, and winners, almost always find a way, whether the nick or or smash them, to beat the less sides.

Of course Arsenal, Pool and City beat sides like Saints,  Palace and Fulham.

I believe their run comes to an end this season. They are weaker, Rodri and huge miss. Up to Slot and Arteta to Duke it out as to who takes the crown.

There are some poor teams in PL, any 3 could go down, Wolves, Palace, Southampton, Leicester, Everton or Ipswich

Wolves have been shockingly poor so far. I keep thinking they will turn it around, but they just keep conceding more and more goals. They have too many good players to be 20th.

Alisson is injured for Liverpool again, looks like it could be a bit of a longer period out for him. I've never actually seen Kelleher play badly for Liverpool though, so I don't think it will make much difference.

Might as well be us eh ?

Would be a wonderful surprise, but not going to happen. Our defence is too weak and our keepers too unstable.

Against sold back lines we will struggle and drop points.

Good job there aren't too many of those in the PL this season then LOL !

The key will be how many points we can take against lower half teams, assuming we can at least match last seasons results against the top half.

Would need to beat everyone left, home and away, not named Liverpool, Man City or Arsenal.

God no, I don't want us to face Kelleher yet again. The bastard keeps saving everything we come up with, rather we face Alisson after international break

Some speculation in the Daily Mail that the ball hit an object on the pitch, which caused it to change direction.

There was also speculation that it hit a divot. There was clearly nothing on the pitch, I couldn't see a divot. Just spin, methinks. It turned like a leg break. Still, Meslier took it too casually. He has history.

This is the pic they showed in their article

I couldn't see anything like that in the original footage mind you.

He's not a great goalkeeper, and had the 2nd worst stats in the PL the year Leeds went down. I can't believe we were even linked to him at one point !

Pretty obvious Photoshop. Clarity of the gloved fingers in the close-up the giveaway.
