A bit early but based on the season so far, who has been your player of the year? Mine would be Cucu with Moises in 2nd. During our good run would have had Moises in first place.

Would be a nice story for Cucu from being a player slated by the fan base at the start of his Chelsea career to player of the year a couple of years later.

Not exactly much to choose from.

Palmer without question.

Caicedo is definitely second and Cucurella deserves credit for keeping us afloat during a difficult time, but we wouldn't even be sniffing top 4 without Palmer's early season form.

Him being even the slightest bit off form has us looking like relegation contenders.

Palmer all day long, and by quite a margin.

Cucurella has had a few nice "Hollywood" moments recently, but he's a long way down the list for me (and on both the free stats sites that provide player ratings)

Blimey! The fact that those scores have Sancho, Sanchez or Chalobah (I'm surprised not to see Felix above him as well in those ratings) above Cucurella is absolutely b*ll*cks in my opinion. For me, Cucurella is getting player of the year so far, together with Palmer and Caicedo. Still a lot to play for, but definitely Cucu has been a surprise this season and one of the few ones that gives 120% every week.

Trev looking high on Sofascore is due to what he did with Palace rather than us. 😀

Like I said, Cucurella has a few good moments every game that attract attention, and then people think he's had a great game. The stats algorithms aren't generally fooled by stuff like that, especially when considered over the course of a season. I think they match up pretty well to the eye test.

And Sanchez scores must be from his time on the bench, because otherwise I don't see him as being less of a liability than Cucu's defending lol

Well, he has made a lot of saves, and got MotM at least twice. Easy to forget the good stuff though as the errors are what people tend to remember !

I honestly don't know what they are going to do with all these bang average keepers they've bought who are on long contracts. Who is going to buy the likes of Sanchez, Jorgensen and Slonina when we want to offload them ? Might have half a chance with selling Kepa, after a generally good season in the PL.

I would say currently Caicedo tohugh if Palmer gets his form back that could change.

Cucu certainly done well this season under Maresca.

It's funny you say that because we'd literally be bottom half without Caicedo and I don't think anyone can tell me otherwise. A midfield with Enzo + KDH is honestly too frightening to think about.

Caicedo for me. Being asked to essentially play 2 roles given how we are set up and has rarely put in a performance less than 7/10. Still believe he is the best CM in the league.

It’s Caiceido without a doubt.

Palmer, Caicedo, Cucu. Probably in that order.

Probably the only player in the squad that has performed at a consistently world class level for the duration of the season. He's so good its just become the norm now.

Had Palmer carried on his early form it would have been him again, but you can't go missing for 2 months and be POTY for me.
