Except inversely it feels the very best players in the world are in Spain or PSG or Bayern. Where they perhaps don't have to put so much strain on their body for the entirety of a season.

It would be just like us for this kid to tear up serie A and go to PSG for 150 million in three years whilst satpaev is on his third loan to Holland and Quenda is sold to Turkey.

I'd feel this way if the names we'd signed him and missed out on tbe others. I just don't have any faith in our recruitment under BlueCo

Never understood fans saying he would get game time here. Austrian league is about just level with the Championship. He keeps developing in Serie A, and he can move on 2 seasons.

People bemoan that we missed out on the next best thing since robotic vacuum cleaners, even after grumbling for 2 years about signing kids we've never heard of, consigning them to the loan army before even reporting at Cobham. Hardly anyone had heard of him before the rumour appeared we might be interested in him. Only because apparently Alonso rates him, has he become the next potential Messi. The lad has a vote in picking his next club as well, Blueco FC is not such an attractive proposition for a teenager these days. That is on the SDs, but they're not necessarily to blame for this particular case.

If whats reported is true, we did the right thing. There is no way he could get any meaningful minutes this season, so if he didn't want a loan thats it. We tried, he didn't want to - it happens.

Based on what? If we signed him, he has to compete for minutes with Cole, Rogers, Estevao, Quenda (also Neto, Gittens) and McQueen. The club sent Derry on loan because of this.
