The Moos Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 I haven't seen anything official yet, only some news about him going to discuss a contract with Chelsea. Is it a 100% done deal or are we getting ahead of ourselves?
Mod Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Moos, when Star says it, its official.. its just Chelsea that may not know it yet.
loz Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 If it is true I am happy enough with it. Haim is established in England and a sound centre half. Yes he is no world beater but then again he is going to be back up, not regular first team material. Also he is still a good age.

bjd Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Our 3rd backup player of the Summer, a good addition IMO. He might not be a Nesta or a Gallas etc but if it stops our midfielders playing at centre back he'll do for me.
Alan Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Well if this is true, yet again I'm underwhelmed. Don't worry, you'll have Brian for company.
Lofty Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 From Sky Sports Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has been quoted, confirming Ben Haim's arrival. "Ben Haim will arrive, we will discuss his contract and finalise the last details and we hope that he will sign the contract by tomorrow [Thursday]," Kenyon is quoted in the Guardian. From that it depends whether you believe Sky quoting the Guardian quoting Peter Kenyon. I saw another quote somewhere (sorry I've lost the link), from Sam Allardyce who apparently said that: Ben Haim will sign for Chelsea for footballing reasons, not financial. Well if this is true, yet again I'm underwhelmed. Don't worry, you'll have Brian for company. Oh. Lucky me.
yorkleyblue Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Keep your back to the wall Lofty and don't drop your car keys! AND, if anyone asks you to do anything like splicing with anything like their mainbrace, be very afraid! Kev
g3.7 Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 didn't really want him in jan... I don't think he is more than an average player, and would prefer to see boulahrouz given another go after his first season... but as long as he's the fourth choice, and alex signs, I'd be happy. p.s. he can play at leftback, I think, so maybe cashley will be carted off!

Kev Phew - for the first time ever I feel lucky I don't drive a car. And as for mainbraces, I wouldn't touch one with a bargepole. Come to that I wouldn't touch a bargepole with a bargepole either.
Iceman Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Confirmed on SSN he has signed on a free on a 4 year deal!!
Alan Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Also on TOCWS [web]http://www.chelseafc.com/page/NewsHomePage/0,,10268~1053185,00.html[/web]
german-blue Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Im very pleased with that ! Another CB back-up. Welcome Tal
The Moos Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Another player for free. I bet the papers will have a laugh. Still, nice to see that even though we have alot of money (if you count Romans that is) we still don't have to spend it all. Three players for free who might be good the next season and soon we might buy Alex for ?1 or so. I think we can win the title without spending any money this season.
barak81 Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 A much better player than people think or give credit for plus only 25 he's probably a lot stonger in the air than cava so a good alternative option and for free an absalout bargin. rekon he'll be a better bet than alex
