I hope Lampard scores a goal to show Gerrard how to do it.

Speaking of Gerrard, I read someplace that he was in the bench the entire game. Talk about trying to protect him from anything bad icon_rolleyes.gif

To be fair, when he did come on he didn't show up so I guess that could be a genuine mistake? 317.gificon_wink.gif

Because Barnsley beat them (at Anfield I might add), I doubt we'd take this as a by to the next round. Some teams learn from their mistakes.

I both love and hate that we play Barnsley. On one hand it's not a great team so we should be able to beat them, but they also beat Liverpool so we can't relax and let some reserves/youngsters try their luck. We have to be on our guard.

Also, I was going to taunt a scouser but now I have to wait because I don't want to taunt him for Liverpools defeat and then end up watching Chelsea be beaten too. I would look rather stupid then and I hate looking like something I'm not.

Some might say "we wont lose against a small team like this" but I think that as long as we've got Grant anything can happen. icon_sad.gif

The Brit, I'd be careful that you don't end up with egg on your face after this match ;p

you misunderstand me...i'm not taking victory for granted, just saying that we have had the luck of the draw this season...having to play qpr, wigan, huddersfield and barnsley to get to a semi-final is a big bonus for us

That post didn't show any hatred. A bit of mistrust perhaps, but certainly not hate.

Me calling him a t*at would perhaps be hate, but I didn't. I have some control over myself icon_wink.gif

definitely one to be wary of. Dodgy pitch in Yorkshire in early march with a load of screaming locals looking for more premiership blood. Recipe for a disaster if the team selection isn't right. Not a place to pitch in the inexperienced, the complete first selection should be chosen.

Can't afford not to be in the semis on a neutral ground ( or is it Wembley)

'Oh I Icky Thump!!'

Great away jolly, its the draw I wished for!

Should be good!!

The last time we played them away we smashed them 6-0 (quite early in the season) I remember Vialli scored a lovely goal against them from outside of the area.

I didn't make it up there that time, but this time its a dead cert!!

Chelsea on long distance public transport......watch out icon_wink.gif

Glory - you'll have to be careful in Barnsley! My local ITV coverage up here also covers some of Yorkshire and according to the locals who appeared on TV, they can't wait to meet the Chelsea fans!

Many years ago, when I worked in magazine publishing, one of the mags I worked on was one of those top shelf titles you chaps all know and love, anyway, as I was doing the PR & Marketing I got to go on a roadshow with some young ladies, who appeared in the magazine. (It was my idea of a nightmare but still.) One of the places we visited was Barnsley, in the nightclub (I use the term loosely) one of the customers grabbed my bottom so hard, he totally ripped my trousers (baring in mind I was not one of the models and was FULLY dressed and clearly not part of the show) - I told one of the security people we'd employed locally to guard the girls and he thought it was funny and couldn't see what my problem was! Barnsley, is an ex-mining stronghold - the locals are genuinely not very friendly to us Southerners.

Mind you, it's about 2 hours drive from me and I'm wondering if I can get to go. I'll let you know if I do and perhaps if anyone's doing the trip we could meet up.

It's a good shout by Jane and so I have prepared a Shed End survival kit for all those planning to go to Barnsley. Basically it is a cunning disguise to allow the SOutherner to mingle freely in the streets of Barnsley without fear of detection.

Here is all you will need
