JT Injured - Good For Us?

Featured Replies

Not a serious injury I don't think (then again if it keeps him out then it has to be more serious than just two broken legs  ) - the back problem that has aggravated him for a few weeks now has apparantly ruled him out of at least the game on Saturday. Now, we all know how to avoid playing for England (case one, Stevie Me) so you can be on top form for your club, but if he can't play, and is given time to heal, surely that only benefits us? We all know how proud he is to play for England be captain, so taking that away from him for even one game seems gutting, but if he's 100% for Liverpool's visit in the coming weeks... I can't say I'm too downhearted.

Thoughts?

Great. I'm not English so I couldn't care less if he doesn't play for England. It'll make him more fit for us.

Agree completely Gem. JT needs to shake off this injury or it will niggle all season, so if he misses a couple of games England SHOULD win easily anyway, that's fine by me.

Surely In-ger-lund can beat a team wearing fake moustaches and flourescent green swimsuits without JT

Can we leave out all the sterotypical shi*, their moustaches are real !! :D :D

completely agree (tho i do like to see england do well) id be more than happy if none of our boys get anywhere near the pitch and come back refreshed and ready to go.

I'm not too bothered, England would win anyway even with Gerrard in the side.

Another Non English fan here, if JT get a week rest, it will be great for the club. At the end of the day, any English team should beat Borat  Also Im tired of the Lampard Gerrard debate, sick of hearing that Scum Gerrard talk about ' how good he is when he plays with a defensive midfielder '. let him have it his way , give him Berry behind his @ss ;) I hope Lampard call it a day for international football after next year. I can tell he's passionate about his country, but he hasn't got anything to prove at the international level .

JT needs to get fit and play - his form is currently well below par.

I recommend an £80,000 a week pay cut until he improves.

We all need a carrot

the thing is gerrard got his wish and had the midfield built for him, with his boyfriend barry beside him against russia and croatia last season. and he was garbage. he went missing in both games and england missed out on the euros. yet lampard gets to play alongside barry against croatia and had a great game, with england winning 4-1. so basically, lampard + gerard = doesnt work. gerrard + barry = doesnt work. lampard + barry = worked. see a common factor there......

Confirmed that JT will miss the first (and probably second) match. Sensible decision in my view. There is no point in making matters worse for the sake of two matches where we shouldn't be stretched at the back anyway.

Personally I am not convinced JT has been properly fit for a hell of a long time now and the time has to come where he takes the right amount to time to recover properly rather than fighting to get back too soon. It will not do his career any good to keep rushing back and may well end with him retiring a good few seasons before he had to.

ive wondered this all season. watch when he plays a ball, he always seems to sort of limp back into position. he seems to hunch over when jogging during a game/ i think hes not anywhere near fully fit but knew he had to start the season as we have a new coach and he has to be his general on the pitch.

There is no doubt the last two seasons have taken their toll physically speaking and perhaps a little mentally too. I had hoped that the summer break would at least allow him to recuperate but I agree that he does look like he is still struggling.

JT had a back problem and missed the croatia game towards the end of last season if i remember rightly

so its a long suffering problem

its good for chelsea because he gets some rest, i'm sure he is chomping at the bit to play though and will be very dissapointed having to sit it out

Ashley Cole has been excellent this season, along with Boswinga we have been penetrating on both sides. Bridgey is good cover for Ashley and a better crosser, but slower and gets caught out of position defensively more often.

So here's hoping they both get fit quickly. Hamstring problems rarely get better unfortunately and Terry's back injury is long standing.
