Kevin De Bruyne

Just had a look at a couple of youtube compilations of him and I'm still undecided. He looks alright, but I can't help thinking we could probably do better - any idea how much money he's likely to cost?

Read somwhere it could be in the region of 8-9 MP .

At that sort of price, he's probably worth a punt - he seems to have potential but looks quite raw, even in his highlight videos. I could see him being a similar sort of player to Bale; not too flashy, but can outrun pretty much anyone and has a decent shot when he gets near the goal.

9m for Bale is better than 50m for Bale. :D

Exactly, we can buy this guy for 9m, he'll have one mediocre season and we'll try and sell him for 5 times the price - what's the worst that could happen? :laugh2:

£9m for a Bale type winger and £14m for a Drogba like striker on condition of loaning De Bruyne out for a season is an outrageously good bit of business. Both should qualify as home grown by 21 as well if I'm not mistaken.

Got to say I find most YouTube videos either boring or unconvincing (I mean, it's possible for even me to look good with enough footage!) but this guy really, really looks the real deal from that.

I haven't seen him play any full matches, but right now I'm pretty (very) excited about this prospect.

The Rage soundtrack helps!

i really dont understand the comparison with bale????

I think I started that - Was just a comment I made after seeing one or two compilation videos that didn't really show him doing much other than Bale style knock and run. It's probably an unfair comment, and having seen a little more, he does look like he has a bit more in his locker than that, was just a first impression from limited footage

The general manager of Racing Genk (Dirk Degraen) told in an interview that Chelsea is prepared to make a clause in the agreement that he can't be loaned to other Belgian teams. So Anderlecht is just wasting time.

Yep, that seems to be the case.

Genk insist Kevin de Bruyne will not be loaned out to Anderlecht or any other rival Belgian club if he completes a move to Chelsea.

Skysports.com revealed on Friday the young midfielder has set his sights on a switch to Stamford Bridge, and is open to an initial loan move to rivals Anderlecht as part of the deal.

Genk director Dirk Degraen is adamant that is not a possibility, though has revealed the highly-rated 19-year-old could be loaned back to the Belgian champions.

"We have spoken with Chelsea about Kevin de Bruyne and it could be a possibility they loan him back out to us," Degraen told VRT.

"They will have to sign a clause that he could not be loaned out to Anderlecht or any other Belgian club."He added: "In my opinion he can't develop at Anderlecht. We have proven to be at least on the same level (as them)."

It was thought Chelsea's plan was to send De Bruyne on loan to Anderlecht to smooth over their potential deal for Romelu Lukaku, who is in talks with the Premier League club.

However, all sides have denied that De Bruyne is directly linked to the move for the striker.

So this guys a winger? on Fifa hes an attacking mid

is there a difference? id say a winger is an attacking mid that plays on the sides

He seems to be a right footed left winger with good technique. Really dont want him to be loaned back anywhere though. I haven seen Chelsea use wing-play since the Robben/Duff days. With him and hopefully Arda Turan to come in, wing-play will be back at Chelsea.

What position does he play in football manager?

I play him in goal for a laugh, hopefully Hiddink will do the same.
