Alonso's Chelsea is a bit different than his Leverkusen one because of a small little thing. On paper was still a 3-4-3 with two classic midfielders and two wing-backs, but when Hoffman was playing, he was also dropping in midfield. When Hlozek was playing instead of Hoffman, Wirtz was deployed centrally and Hlozek was joining Boniface in attack. So most of the times Alonso was having three in midfield. Here, as we can see so far, Palmer and Rogers stay in the pockets most of the time, with maybe Joao Pedro dropping centrally for a little bit to link-up the play. So it's basically two in midfield all the time to do the hard work and the reason I think the best partner for Caicedo would be someone similar to him, but just a little bit more polished technically. James would be perfect. If fit.

Estêvão
Well said.. and you have to keep giving him those minutes regularly. It’s like with Liverpool and Jacquet, he has been mid but Iraola has kept on starting him. Or closer to home, Josh looks better the more mins he gets. It’s about the bigger picture.

Morgan Rogers
He could feasibly play anywhere across the front and as a Lampard type 8. He’s clearly enjoying himself and long may it continue. Baller.

Bully is being unnecessarily kind to UEFA. The G14 was the cabal that colluded with UEFA to maximise their mutual commercial interest, and exclude the 'up-start' clubs like Chelsea, Man City, Atletico etc. PSG, as original G-14 members, had a much cosier relationship with UEFA than either City or Chelsea from the start of the Qatari takeover.

Morgan Rogers
He did play off the left but it's actually a very similar role to 25/26, where he excelled when playing off Watkins and Buendia. Rogers creates a lot of problems in that inside left channel because he can outmatch any fullback physically. So you have to send a CB, but he is also big enough to compete with any CB aerially. It probably also inadvertently helps that in the complete absence of a midfield, we're forced to go long and direct to him. We saw that in Palmer's goal against Fulham where Rogers monstered Calvin Bassey in the air, giving Pedro and Palmer a free run into a giant pocket of space behind. Saw it again with his first assist to Palmer, completely dominates Tarek Muharemovic like vintage Drogba for the layoff pass. There's no real strategy or tactic to defend against a player like this, you have to hope they have an off day or your CB has an exceptionally good one.

BlueCo buy Chelsea FC
Various reports Todd and Mark Walter are very close to an agreement to sell their shares to Clearlake. They will make a profit on their investment but the deal will fall short on their aim for Chelsea, as a whole, to be valued at 5 billion. Good riddence to them, now just need Hans Jorg Wyss and Clearlake themselves to pi$$ off as well.

Pre-Match Predictions - Week 4 - Hull City (H)
Your prediction should be of the score, the first goal scorer and the minute of the first goal. For example, if I am predicting a win for the famous CFC by a scoreline of 3-1, and Morgan Rogers to score first in the 25th minute, I would write Chelsea 3-1 Hull City, Rogers 25 NOTE: If you do not include the team names in your prediction and instead just put the score, e.g. "1-2" I will assume Home - Away. If you're predicting a 0-0, then the player name and minute should be of the first shot on target, rather than first goal. If you predict a scoring game, but the result is 0-0, then the player name and minute will, again, be of the first shot on target. If you are predicting an own goal as the first scorer, you don't need a player name, but you do need to specify which team gets the goal. E.g. If Chelsea are playing Zetas all stars and you think the amazingly coached wonderkids will score first with being gifted an own goal, it would be something like: Zetas all stars 2-1 Chelsea, Own Goal (Zeta all stars), 35. So the own goal team is the team that gets the goal, not the team that puts the ball into their own net. Deadline is 5 minutes before kick-off. Maximum of 1 change per person. ------------------ Correct Result (W, D, L): 1 point Correct Score: 5 points Correct First Scorer: 5 points Correct First Scorer and Minute: 15 points Correct Everything: 30 points

- Morgan Rogers
Gooooooood Signing- Jamie Gittens joins Chelsea
To who? Roma were the interested party this summer, and as usual with Italian teams it was a loan with an option. No one is paying straight cash for a bust from us, and the Garnacho situation at Villa would be detrimental going forward.- Pedro Neto *Official*
He was good last night.- Morgan Rogers
- Valentin Barco our Ginger Argentinian
Or anyone else come to that. As well as having the facial characteristics and hair of a cocker spaniel he must also be similarly soft mouthed!- So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Where was Pochettino's morals when his USA player got a presidential pardon and got the red card overturned in the World Cup. He also wants to look in the mirror about the season before when Spurs came 3rd in a two horse race when Leicester won the league. Massively gone down in my estimation after these bitter comments. Clearly twerking for Spurs again despite the fact they overlooked him and went for De Zerbi.- Morgan Rogers
Honestly, I was very happy when we signed and said he will turn out to be a great signing. I know it's early days but, he makes such a difference to our attack in just the fact opponents have someone else other than Palmer to worry about for 90 minutes. £117, bargain!- Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2026/27
BBC absolutely milking it, second article today, whatever 35k py editor writing these with chat gbt is clearly a spurs fan or a gooooner. …Expecting other outlets to keep doing the same. Shameless.- Cole Palmer signs for Chelsea!
The addition of Rogers unlocks his best skill, the ability to be creative. Also is rid of safe zones that hindered his natural instincts- Morgan Rogers
Said it before but he's the dogs bo**ocks, the perfect player to complement Palmer who needs someone that can pull defences away- Valentin Barco our Ginger Argentinian
I was not a fan of him during the signing but he has done well when given a chance. He works best in a midfield 3, no way should he be used in a midfield 2 without someone like Kante as a partner- Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2026/27
From the BBC sports site..... f**king outrageous ..vvvv. The inquiry concluded there was no benefit to the football team, and the payments wouldn't have breached financial spending rules had they been declared. They can feck off, the cheeky feckers ""Should Tottenham be retrospectively crowned Premier League champions for the 2016-17 season? That's the opinion of former manager Mauricio Pochettino, who led Spurs to a second-place finish - seven points behind Chelsea - that season. This is about Chelsea making £47m in secret payments, according to a Premier League investigation, to unregistered agents and third parties to seal transfers between 2011 and 2018."- So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
Idk who pissed in his cereal when he made that comment but he's always been a c**t even back in his playing days- Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2026/27
3-0. They can be deadly going forward. Leipzig had a decent spell with Nkunku finally seeing the ball but they’re not good enough. Cripes. Should be 4-0. Edit. Okay. 3-1. Nicely taken. - Chelsea vs Hull City (PL) Saturday 12th September 15:00 GMT
