  1. Bristol Rovers... We're currently second in the Conference sitting four points behind Barnet. This is our support at Fulham in the F.A Cup Goodnight Irene is the clubs anthem
  2. Happy Birthday to this genius! 52 today! and hopefully one or two albums left in him.. he keeps going like Weller!

One of the classics.. "You expect me to talk"? "No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die"!
  4. I watched Side Effects last night, it was alright. It's about a young woman taking prescription drugs because she's suffering with depression. She then murders her fella & the story unravels from there. I won't go in to it too much just in case anybody decides to watch it.
  5. I go games with a black chap, he's British by birth though. He goes to most away games as well & he's Chels through & through. I haven't spoken to him about the events the other day but I'll speak to him tomorrow about it. He's one of the nicest lads you'll ever meet as well.
  6. Swansea away at the Vetch, intimidating place. Please bear in mind, I'm a Bristol lad and this was my days going with the Rovers firm (GHS). This was my first away day with the boys, I was only fourteen. It was November 6th in 2004.. We had three transits leave Filton in Bristol and the rest travelled by train. We touched down in Swansea early doors around 11am. We met in this boozer called The Cricketers and after a couple of hours we left to find the Jacks. Unfortunately our mob of 140+ got picked up by old bill, we were rounded up and escorted to the Vetch. We lost 1-0 to a last minute penalty so all the boys decided to leave the stadium early.. we tried getting on the pitch, then outside we tried our utmost to break free from old bill. This is where it gets exciting 'cause it's pretty much a non event up 'til now. The train station is one way and our three transits are two miles in the opposite direction. Most of our mob get an escort to the train station, we lose the presence of the old bill, it's dark and we're walking along the promenade in the other direction. This day we had our top boys out, some meat heads. Anyways, about 10 minutes along along the promenade, Swansea come from every direction, some of ours stand and take a good kick-in whilst some of the young uns like myself got on our toes. It's going off everywhere, I see some of ours cuffed and covered in claret. I don't know to this day if those Swansea boys were tooled up or just lumps but they were game. We carry on along the promenade and bump in to a Welsh chap who politely tells us "we've slashed the tyres on your vans, you're in Swansea for the night boys and you're gonna get murdered". We re-group, no more than ten of us.. across the road we see a group of lads, no more than 10 or so.. they're stood there.. We make a mistake of waiting, no longer than a minute has passed and we're outnumbered 2 to 1, 10+ lads just appeared from the street behind 'em. There's no old bill in sight, they start crossing the road, one of our boys says "don't run this is what we've come here for".. they get closer, I ain't gonna lie, I was sh*tting myself. I was the first to get on my toes, the rest of the boys are gone too. We all head in opposite directions, I thought one of ours was going to swim back to Avonmouth as he hopped the wall and was being chased along the beach. Luckily I was in the presence of one of our drivers, we had a transit still breathing.. it took us at least an hour and a half to find the rest of our boys, pick 'em up and make it safely out of Swansea. I've never been so relieved to get home. That was the only time I was really intimidated away, and I know it has nothing to do with Chelsea, I'm just sharing my experience.

  8. If it goes down to goal difference on the last day of the season, I reckon we can expect Torres to score one goal for each million Roman splashed on him, thus confirming us champions. Cardiff City 0-50 Chelsea... In a parallel universe.
  9. We never make it easy! So nerve wrecking watching at times.. good job we've got such a strong, organised defence, all credit to Jose for that! Mark Schwarzer is a bit dodgy at times, when he punched the ball out, what was all that about? Courtois on the other hand looks confident, I definitely would love to see him between the sticks as our no. 1 in a couple of seasons.. Got the game on Sunday then the second leg on Wednesday.. similar to playing Barca at home a few seasons ago, then Spurs in the FA Cup semi in-between, then going to the Nou Camp... Look what happened that season! I'm optimistic, maybe not as far as the double, but the Champions League definitely!
  10. I woke up gutted this morning, I thought Moyes was doing a cracking job tbh...
  11. Fair play for studying so many languages, I can barely speak English! Welcome on board
  12. I fancy a draw tonight, would be great to get an away goal.. realistically, 1-1 would be perfect.. I've got a feeling Torres will score, reckon he'll be pumped playing on his manor
  13. Welcome! Which part of the States are ya from?
  14. As I'm a Bristolian, born & bred, my hometeam is Bristol Rovers who I have only been following since 2003, but been following the Chels since '99.. Bristol's a sh*te city for football; Rovers are crap & City are crap! Where I grew up, all the kids either supported Man U, Liverpool or Arsenal.. but my first love was Chelsea, seeing Vialli, Zola, Di Matteo, Dennis Wise etc play back in '99, 2000 and so on.. Plus, nobody supported Chelsea, so I wanted to be different, even if I did get a lot of stick as the Arsenal & Man U were dominating then. It wasn't 'til I started secondary school, I started going to watch Bristol Rovers with my brother and followed 'em around the country for several years, to glorious places like Barnet. I did have a season ticket for three years but packed it in 'cause we were and still are scrapping away down the bottom of League 2. There's so much long ball, Sunday league football you can watch 'til you pack it in and would rather spend the extra moolah travelling to watch a decent game of football. I don't even bother with Rovers now, I just fit in Chelsea when I can, although Saturday was like watching Rovers, I wondered whether the Rovers boys have turned up to SW6 and was playing in disguise?!! There you have it, I do follow both Bristol Rovers & Chelsea, I just couldn't give up my childhood addiction whilst going to watch me hometeam regularly. Also, the chances of seeing Rovers play Chelsea look less & less likely every year.. I think the last time they played was a league game in the old division2 back in 1984! I wish I wasn't one of those that follows two teams because it shows a lack of loyalty. However, it is what it is and at least Rovers play in blue&white as well
  15. Inclined to agree with everybody else, Cech has been great for us, in the decade or so he's served CFC... He's been outstanding this season. However, players do age and maybe not next season but the following Courtois should be our first choice. Am I correct in believing Courtois got voted GK of the year in La Liga last season? Not bad for a lad that's only 21.. Also, he's Belgium's first choice, before Mignolet.. in the matches I've seen this season, Mignolet has been arguably the best keeper in the Premiership; great positioning, awareness, pulling off some fine saves. As I don't watch much foreign football, I've not seen much of Atletico play, so couldn't comment on Courtois' performances, I'm just going on hearsay, everybody seems to be raving about him.. hopefully get to see what all the fuss is about during the World Cup.
  16. Welcome mate! Respect keepin' the flag flyin' high over in Barcelona
  17. Some poor performances yesterday, got home at 1am disappointed so decided to do the ironing at 2am and put burn marks in a new cardi, woke up even more disappointed . However, I hope that loss can inspire us to go on and win the Champions League this season.. All credit to Sunderland, they came to the Bridge on the back of an impressive result at Man City and got the win they probably deserved.. I didn't see the penalty and I didn't catch MOTD last night, son hopefully see the ref's decision later this evening.. Everyone afterwards was saying it wasn't a penalty! Obviously would love the canaries to beat Liverpool in a short while.. Can't see it happening though! There's a great team there, but clearly there's a lot of work to be done.. We don't look like champions, but next season we will, definitely! Transition season this one, 'til we dominate for another decade.
  18. What a performance, top result! I'm absolutely gutted I wasn't present today, had to make do watching on walkabout's big screen in Bristol city centre.... Red shirts everywhere, I was going absolutely mental! Sad Gooners shouting at the TV screen and everything.. at least they stayed 'til the end though...
  19. Chuffed with that draw tbh, really looking forward to seeing Zlatan at the Bridge, definitely one of the greatest players on the planet and one I haven't had the pleasure of seeing live. Definitely a team we can progress against.. have to wait 'til the semi's to knock out Real Madrid then go on to beat Bayern in the final again
  20. Want Dortmund other than Man U.. I reckon we'll draw Atletico but I want us to avoid Real Madrid.. simply 'cause like Bayern they're the team on the best form.. Reckon we could progress against many over two legs but at this stage there are no easy games... well, there's Man United
  21. "You're going home in a combine harvester" aimed at Bristol C**y supporters.. Hello Keynsham Boy.. Up The Gas!
  22. Welcome on board chap! We've got somethin' in common.. being a Bristolian and growing up in a family with no football influence, it was all a bit mental with my brother being a Liverpool supporter, cousins supporting Man U & Arsenal.. other kids in the area and in school wearing shirts of those teams mentioned.. Always got the p*ss taken out of me for supporting Chelsea, but something attracted me to 'em even when I was a nipper. Such a special club & you'll meet great people on here too, knowledgeable about their football, down to Earth & a good laugh.
  23. I like Lukaku but Mourinho doesn't favour him.. he's got strength like Drogba and loves to score (on the pitch), but that's the only comparison. We need someone who is guaranteed to put the ball in the back of the net every other game, let's be honest any of us could if we were being fed by Hazard, Oscar etc. I would love to see Diego Costa in a Chelsea shirt but I'm aware that's an unpopular choice. Falcao is unhappy at Monaco I'm led to believe, there's Cavani as well.. I would love to see Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Chelsea but it wouldn't happen, he's on mega bucks at PSG and he's not getting any younger! Mario Balotelli is a big no from me, and Rooney.. forget it! Never wanted him in the first place.. Neither are prolific goalscorers. I suppose we'll find out soon enough who Mourinho favours to replace Torres/Ba/Eto'o. I seriously reckon Torres will be heading back to Atletico & Diego Costa will be on his way to us in some sort of deal.
  24. Agreed, Olympiacos would be the ideal tie, I'd fancy us in over two legs against Barcelona or Dortmund as well.. Real Madrid, Bayern & Atletico Madrid will take some beating... Never say never, we've got the main man in Mourinho to do so.. I players are more than capable of reaching the final again... I fear for other teams when we get a decent striker next season, although Eto'o had a blinder last night, but a top forward banging in 25-30 a season.. It's inevitable! We'd be unstoppable!
  25. I've got a feeling Argentina, I don't know why I've got a strong sense tingling in my toes (that could be the diabetes). Brazil must be favourites, surely? Especially after thumping Spain in the Confederations Cup; but Argentina's attack is gonna take some stopping.. As someone has mentioned; Messi, Aguero & Tevez.. Quality! Fair play, someone's voted for USA, love the optimism!
