  1. Don't know how I was being a dick, I was just astonished that someone misspelled Cech, and I wasn't aware of that poster's apparent dyslexia. So I apologise to him.
  2. Alright guys, simmer down. To quote Richard Keys, it was just banter. I'm not sure why some people got the impression I was smashing my keyboard in fury over it.
  3. Joe Strummer was a Chelsea fan, that's all that matters.
  4. The goals have dried up recently John Obi, what's happened? Was expecting more off the back of the joint most prolific goal-scoring season in your career.
  5. Stopped reading at 'chec'. How on earth can you not know the correct spelling of the most legendary and arguably the greatest keeper in the club's history?
  6. Hazard and Ivanovic the pick of the bunch so far for me. Costa does his job brilliantly but has only been the best player on the pitch twice this season in my opinion; at Goodison and against Swansea. He is able to score goals despite being relatively quiet otherwise (Arsenal, Villa, Leicester, Burnley), so while I love him, I wouldn't say he's been our best performer this season.
  7. Stay away from Africa please, don't want us being held accountable for bringing ebola into the Premier League.
  8. Best player in the Premier League.
  9. The yellow kit so is damn sexy, can't wait for any games where we might be donning it. Bit nervous about this game though, never know what to expect from Chels in these fixtures... and the incredible atmosphere seemed to affect us here last time round. That said, I reckon 0-1 or 1-2, and even then I may be being overly cautious, as I said the same for Everton away earlier this season and we thumped them. If we click we can annihilate Palace, but that is a big if. Also, dunno if anyone else picked up on this, but the OP mentions how Palace 'parked the bus' to beat us last season. Not true at all mate, they defended in numbers but had plenty of chances to win by even more. We were absolutely appalling.
  10. Our current away kit is probably my all-time favourite kit. Always loved yellow kits, and before this year my favourite kit of ours was probably the 08/09 FA Cup Final winning yellow kit. It's even nicer this time around though.
  11. As others have said, Redcafe is decent enough. RAWK is full of absolute tossers, but at least it gave us that RAWK Meltdown twitter account. Always a good read. Incidentally I never post on other forums but I almost always visit opposition forums before and after games. Most of the time when I visit the forum of a team we've just beaten, none of them seem too wound up because they expected the loss in the first place. Decent discussion and insight belongs mostly on 'smaller' teams' forums, and the actual entertainment lies in visiting the likes of RAWK or Blue Moon after we've done them. I've sometimes wondered what the general opinion of The Shed End is on opposition forums. Quite a few opposition fans visit us and have their say in the build up to games, and when they do we seem to be polite enough to them, so I would imagine we seem alright. But I could be well off the mark.
  12. I know we did, and I don't have any hard feelings towards the guy really, but it would have been nice for him to take a pay cut and leave, rather than accepting such enormous money despite very little contribution on the pitch for so long. From what I've heard he is finally taking a pay cut to join Milan though, so I'm thankful for that. The longer him being stuck at Chelsea and being paid outrageous money lasted, the more our wage budget would have been stretched.
  13. Can't believe we last won the league cup 7 years ago. I know it's not the most important of trophies but it's a nice piece of early silverware and you'd have thought a team like ours would have won it more in that time.
  14. I'm not sure. I don't think he was necessarily transfer listed at any point but I reckon we've been trying our hardest to shift him for years now. I think we just couldn't find any club that both wanted him and were mad enough to pay those silly wages. Luckily we have now. That is something that bothers me about Torres, actually. Always liked the guy for his work ethic and so on, but the fact that he refused to take a wage cut to leave the club and was happy to collect that kind of money at the club is pretty ridiculous to me. How he could accept those pay cheques given his performances for us, and how could he refuse to leave unless his new club pay him the same?
  15. What is with all the fuss over Costa's 'antics' at Everton I keep seeing from other fans. Saying he's a hothead and has no humility, even though Coleman did his best to wind him up with niggly fouls the entire game and Diego didn't even react. Thought it was a ridiculous yellow he received. He took it extremely well for someone notorious for getting angry at these kinds of things... if someone does that to Suarez the little rat bites them! And as for taunting Coleman after the OG, I have to say that makes me love the man even more. Doesn't retaliate to Coleman's pathetic antics and then rubs it in when the idiot puts it in his own net. Nothing wrong with that at all.
  16. "Fernando Torres, he's better than you!" - Chelsea fans to Lukaku at Everton yesterday, genius
  17. Buses are like bananas, they only come in bunches.
  18. Agreed, but also the reason he could never be successful at Chelsea was that he seems unwilling to be second choice at any team. I can understand he's young and wants game time, but he never seemed willing to fight against Torres, Eto'o and Ba for number one spot, and so he looked for a loan option. If he keeps that attitude, and is unwilling to have to fight his way up a pecking order, he will never succeed at any club with title ambitions.
  19. Some great transfers this summer, but the best part for me was definitely how early we got our business done (besides Remy of course but we had planned to have Torres in the squad up until now). Getting Costa and Fabregas so early was key because they had the whole of pre season to gel into the team. By the time the season had kicked off, they were able to hit the ground running. Whereas in the case of a team like United, Di Maria, Rojo and whoever else that clown is buying before the window shuts 'need time' to settle and gel into the team, and they are going to have to keep dropping points until that has happened.
  20. Not in the slightest. Am I the only Chelsea fan who never at any point thought this guy was good enough for Chelsea? Granted he was better for Everton last season than any of Eto'o, Torres or Ba, but that's only because they were below Chelsea standard. He's got the touch of a rapist and while he has improved with the ball at his feet, he still has almost no technical ability in my opinion.
  21. One of the best games of the entire Premier League era. I'll take 1-0s in the next 35 though, please.
  22. Thanks Mr Gourlay, for bringing in Fernando Torres. Only joking, he does deserve credit for his work, particularly from this summer. Did well to get Fabregas in.
  23. I would sacrifice my first born to the gods if it meant Torres left us this summer
  24. Had Thibaut conceded on that one-on-one today there wouldn't be any blame on him whatsoever, but the fact that he saved it is pretty much the final nail in Petr's coffin.
  25. Good win today. Sorry to plug myself lads, but I just started writing Chels articles for this new site, and wanted some feedback from fellow Blues more than anything. So this is my match report from today, if you can be bothered to give it a quick glance. Cheers. http://www.thematch.co.uk/thematch-report-chelsea-2-0-leicester-city-blues-edge-past-resilient-foxes/
