Chelsea v Atletico - (CL SF 2nd Leg) 30/04/14 KO 19:45 BST
Hazard wasn't fit, didn't defend well all night. No one played particularly well. Courtious looked brilliant tonight we have to have him back at some point. Costa has done nothing to convince me he is worth backing as out main striker

How do people to understand the away goal rule yet? I cannot go past 90 minutes whatever the score and now they have the away goal anything but a Chelsea win and they go through, jeez, is pretty simple Cannot believe that we're currently going out by letting in such a sh*t goal, we just turned off

This is why Jose is great, if we're guessing what he's doing so will be the other team

The debate over footballing 'philosophies'
Good post mate, simple for me really, results are absolutely everything. Whatever the team, whatever the players, whatever the style of play, if you're not winning the fans shouldn't be happy. There, of course, has to be some balance in the team as Jose says, if a team parks the bus they will not win the game, unless they look to go forward when they do gain possessions a team will not score and I think that's where the big difference between Chelsea's defensive style and west hams, for instance, defensive style differs. After our heavily criticised win at the weekend and the much praised win for Madrid last night, I think it's clear that other people's perceptions are influenced by the team playing. Possession football has recently been labeled as 'proper football' or the 'right way to play football' but I feel this is a stance closed minded people have taken and one they have been told by the media, when teams like Barcelona or Bayern pass the ball from the back, make short passes and move into space they can score beautiful goals, but this mainly happens when teams let them, they play fairly weak opposition in the league and can therefore penetrate them easily, making them look class. But when these teams come up against tougher defences, the ones that let them pass the ball around the back but don't let them make key passes through the middle they struggle and make the game look extremely dull. As for counter attacking teams,I personally feel that when two teams both want to counter attack in the same game it makes for the best viewing. When a team can be dangerous from defending a corner it makes the game very interesting, you can see a team under pressure one minute then creating a chance the next. It can played at a very high tempo and can lead to players in space charging at the oppositions defence. It's good to see a chance come from nowhere, when a pass unlocks a defence and suddenly a player is in, but when it's 3 on 3 from the edge on one box to the edge of another, there's nothing quite like the excitement and anticipation of a great counter attack.

The John Obi Mikel Goal Scoring Thread
After hearing that I want him to stay even more, he shouldn't play when we want to dominate games and possession because he can't pass forward too well but he's shown time and time again that he can step up in the big games. Maybe we can try him in smaller games if we play him and matic with matic bombing forward with Mikel sitting, still yet to see how well matic is at playing like yaya though.

I think just Luiz and Willian, if we get to the final I predict Luiz won't be available.

More than capable than pulling that off against us? Could you be more negative, I agree they are a strong team but I don't think there is a single chance well lose 4-0 especially with our defencivly vigilant tactics. We are very strong at the back and I'm shocked that you think we have the capabilities of collapsing at the back in our biggest game. The same sort of things were said against Liverpool and city, athletico are better but not that much better.

Because they haven't been as good this year, the league doesn't lie

Premier League: The Final Stretch
Actually just two draws for both city and Liverpool would do it. City still look like they may bottle it in one game lets just see how much us betting them affected Liverpool

Liverpool v Chelsea (PL) 27/04/14 KO 14:05 BST
Yeah you did say that and was fair comment. I agree don't think it was a good Liverpool performance I can't think of many players that I would of said had a good match, I think all the support from the fans finally turned into pressure and like you say you were rushing things, giving the ball away. As for playing for a draw, I think that would of been the best thing to do but in all honesty Im sure if Liverpool have it in them, they will always go out to attack teams because that's their strength and where a lot of the time it works there will always be a game here and there where they run out of attacking ideas.

Liverpool v Chelsea (PL) 27/04/14 KO 14:05 BST
After the invincible season I don't think consecutive top four finishes and one (possibly two) fa cup(s) would count as anything other than a failure, especially given the fact that you haven't been involved in a title challenge seriously for a number of years and even more recently have just scrapped champions league, we are meant to be seeing progress from arsenal but I honestly think you're falling further away, you don't even make a dent in Europe anymore, you can compete against big teams and your season always collapses when people predict it to, worst of all I'm making these comments on a Chelsea Liverpool match thread

Liverpool v Chelsea (PL) 27/04/14 KO 14:05 BST
Definitely think you in particular were naive, I quoted your 3-0 prediction yesterday and you also thought you'd score 'at least one' in the first half. Fair play to you though haven't tried to make excuses or slagged us off and like you say this season has gone a lot better than most would expect for Liverpool.

Chelsea v Atletico - (CL SF 2nd Leg) 30/04/14 KO 19:45 BST
Resting less players, travelling and a lack of European experience will make this a very tough game for them, we need to exploit all of these weaknesses to get to Lisbon.

PFA Awards
Deservedly so I must say, in other years Rooney probably could of got in, he has performed pretty well this year but with Suarez and Sturridge scoring so many goals I don't think any other striker had a chance.

Liverpool v Chelsea (PL) 27/04/14 KO 14:05 BST
Ill tell you what makes these results even better, the arrogance of all opposing fans singing 'you're not special anymore' to Jose early on in the season. Haven't heard these calls recently, not after beating city and Liverpool home and away, betting arsenal by 6, losing just 1 of the games against the top 8, not to mention cruising past galatasary, turning round a near impossible result against psg and stopping one of the most potent teams in Europe, one leading the way in a league consisting of Real Madrid and Barcelona, in thier own back yard, and all of this with three strikers that, at times, give little to no outlet. Jose once again proving the doubters wrong and proving time after time that he is still very much, the special one.

Chelsea v Norwich (PL) 04/05/14 KO 16:00 BST
I'm not saying that I want injuries, but after yesterday's win I think our squad could take a few. I don't think we have a chance for the title but win this and it'll be possible on the final day, we have to stay in it mathematically, as much as I don't see both dropping the points I think one of them may bottle it.
