Just a horrible thought, if we do field a weakened team, which seems a likely and we lose the game, but then city and Liverpool both drop the points we would have needed them to for us to win the league, it would reflect so badly on us, I know there's been plenty of points where we have dropped points but this would be the clear game for everyone to look back on and say we missed our chance. I will say that I don't think both teams will drop the points we need but just a thought. Besides if we get to the final I think it will be enough to vindicate the decision to put the champions league ahead of the prem

Yeah I agree, I just think well play the most defensive we have been all season in the prem, 3 in the midfield and with the intention to keep the game as tight as possible, it might be one in the first half but I just don't see it being at least one like you said. Why you so confident you'll score at least one in the first half? We still have the best defence in the league and well set up defensively, probably even more so than if we had a feel strength team

He did know but other countries seem to give their sides a longer rest, if no one moans its never gonna change and England will continue to lose their threat in Europe, it won't be long until we start losing the privilege of 4 teams in the champions league, in fact if it weren't for Chelsea we'd probably of already lost it. For someone with happy in their name you'd of thought you could be a bit more upbeat. If being the only club left in Europe is embarrassing for you maybe you should support arsenal. He's put us back in a title race for the first time in years and if Rooney hadn't lead everyone to believe he was on his way to Stamford bridge then maybe we wouldn't of missed out on other targets. Think you need some perspective, every manager in the late stages of cup completions moan about fixtures piling up, what do you want him to do, sit there and support the fa's decision to give other sides a clear advantage.

True was just saying I think that two legs can lead for exciting situations even if the football is poor standards it means that teams have to quickly change tactics, formations or whatever because they need a goal or need to protect whatever. Bale was poor. But bayern were very poor, they play the most boring football but never get called on it, is good to watch when the other teams defence is sh*t and they let them score quality goals. Pep is the most overrated manager I've ever seen, he is a good manager but he inherited two brilliant teams, one with the best players I've ever seen he did what you'd expect with them and with bayern he's made them worse for me.

Honestly wouldn't have any problem with these if the fa were consistent, they make up punishments and dish them out if and when they see fit, identical situations have varying punishments and make them look shambolic. Mikel is so good at backs to the wall type games, he is shocking at controlling the game and passing forward but whenever we are underdogs, especially in Europe, he shines. I do like him for that but going forward he's never going to be a starter and I'm not sure he'll be overly happy about minimum game time

Is anyone else starting to not care about this game? We have much bigger things to worry about, the likelyhood is that even if we win on sunday Liverpool will still win the league, if not still think city will go ahead of us after their game in hand. We messed it up last weekend and as long as we finish 3rd or higher the league means little to me now. I'd rest as many players as we can and go there as defensive as we like. With matic Lampard and Mikel in the middle we can still go there and put up a good fight. Henderson out too we could control the midfield. I think people need to stop being so concerned about Liverpool winning the league and concentrate on our chance for a bigger and better trophy. Completely depends on hazard and etoo for me. Assuming they're both fit I see it as; Liverpool; Schwarzer Azpilicueta Cahill Ivan cole Lampard Mikel matic Salah Schurrle Torres (I want him to score against Liverpool so badly) Athletico Same back 5 Ramires Luiz Oscar (depending on how the game goes he can sit just ahead of these two or play as number 10) Willian Hazard Eto'o

Our cover in defence is probably the best you'll find anywhere, don't get me wrong terry going to be a huge miss but it means that we just move 2 soild defenders to their natural position (Ivan cb, azpilicueta rb) and having Ashley cole as 2nd choice left back is brilliant cover, looked like he'd never been away. Even Schwarzer is a very decent second choice gk, compared to our previous options, could turn out to be signing of the season if he can keep a clean sheet next game

Terry looked OK walking off, but can only guess for now, to be honest I couldn't care less about the weekend, I'd rest everyone we can, one win from another final
