Smacky The Frog got a reaction from Zola in Diego "the guv'nor" CostaSo, this is slightly off-topic, but I was reading the "Steven Gerrard's Autobiography" thread on RedCafe because I felt like I needed a laugh, and guess what I found there? A morally upright Charlton fan, like our very own Gladstonian Liber, lecturing the United supporters on a United forum for making fun of one of their most hated rivals. He goes by "David Court" and here's his post:
So, are all Charlton fans sanctimonious twats or are David Court and Gladstonian Liber the same sad person? Or, and this might be it, do Arsenal and Liverpool fans (two very similar fanbases, one just 5-7 more years of failure and a few poetry lessons behind the other) use Charlton as a front to defend their teams on rival forums because the notion of a "Charlton Fan" is so alien that none of us would even consider that they're lying?

Smacky The Frog got a reaction from Barry Bridges in Diego "the guv'nor" Costa1) Diego Costa did not intentionally break anyone's leg, so your hypothetical example of an Arsenal player doing the same and it causing you - the moral authority on all things - to stop supporting him is utterly meaningless. I do, however, remember a lot of Arsenal fans commending Welbeck for the two-footed, attempted leg-breaker he tried on Fabregas last season. But I'm sure you tsk-tsk'd it, sadly shaking your head at the television screen, because you are a wonderful and pure human being.
2) Just because you and large sections of your fanbase are immensely fickle in support of your lead striker, doesn't mean we have to be the same with ours. We cheer him on because he gives it all on the pitch. No one's going, "YEAAAAH DIEGO! GENTLY SLAP HIM IN THE FACE MATE!!! DIEGO DIEGO DIEGO!!!" Most of us are, at best, lukewarm / mildly uncomfortable over his other antics, and you'd have known that if you'd actually read most of this thread instead of coming in firing shots with your cute little custom-made waterpistol. One day, after Arsene leaves following another 5 years of not winning the League and embarrassing himself and English football in the Champions League, you'll once again find a striker who isn't terrible and actually gives a sh*t, and you'll get it.
3) Your club tried to buy Luis Suarez. Talk about abandoning your morals.

Smacky The Frog reacted to Bobbywoodhogan in Diego "the guv'nor" CostaDon't come on a Chelsea forum and start giving out sh*t without reading posts properly you f**king pea sized brained moron.

Smacky The Frog reacted to Upsetter in Diego "the guv'nor" CostaSerious question. Why are you wasting yours and everyone else's time? You're on a Chelsea site, remember. This site is no more biased towards Chelsea than for instance, Arsenal-mania is towards Arsenal, in fact I would say that on this site, reasonable opposing fans are made far more welcome than on the majority of club-specific forums.
You on the other hand, have come here as an Arsenal fans telling Chelsea fans that they have no right to think as they do. That we as a fanbase are deluded and all the usual bollocks we hear day in day out from any number of sanctimonious gobsh*tes such as yourself.
You slag off Costa, you slag off Mourinho, you slag off Chelsea fans. You know nothing outside of what you read in the media. In Costa's very first game for the club he was clearly fouled in the penalty area, and yet was booked for diving. What the f**k do you know? These things happen to Chelsea players on an all too regular basis. Hazard and Torres were also booked for "simulation" when clearly fouled. And don't give me this shtie about their reputations preceding them, last season there was a spate of Chelsea players booked for diving. Chelsea players being made an example of ,The very worst example of this kind of thing was when Jonny Evans drop-kicked Didier Drogba in the stomach. And what happened. Drobga was booked for simulation.
I could go on and on and on. I could tell you about the FA changing their own rules specifically in order to pursue THAT case against John Terry, the one where he was found not guilty in a court of law, in which it was clearly stated that "John Terry is not a racist".
Why am I telling you this? Why am I bothering? because I have had it up to hear with sanctimonious gobsh*te c**ts like yourself passing off their own one-eyed opinins as "fact", ludicrously claiming some kind of moral high ground, looking down their pretentious ignorant noses spouting the same old brand of bullsh*t about this club that I have supported for nigh on half a century.
Who the f**k do you think you are? f**k off and do one.

Smacky The Frog reacted to ForeverCarefree in Diego "the guv'nor" CostaI didn't say the FA is against Chelsea, you're making up your own narrative.
To suggest an elbow into the ear/temple of a player isn't as bad as having your hands on an opponents face is laughable. Just contrast the reactions of the players on the receiving end of both incidents.
Once again what we've seen is a lack of consistency from the FA with how they deal with retrospective punishment.
What's the reasoning of Gabriel having his red card rescinded when he involved himself with Costa, not the other way round and then making Matic serve a two match ban for pushing over a player who had just gone in studs up on his shin, a challenge we've seen break player's legs before?
Likewise, Rooney escapes punishment for elbowing a playing in the head but Costa is issued a 3 match ban for... Well, we don't actually know yet and I'm sure the full reasoning will never be made known to supporters.
Similarly we had an incident where Charlie Adam swung an elbow at Andre Schurrle not once but twice whilst shepherding the ball out of play and it went unpunished.
I'm don't tend to watch games besides Chelsea and so that's why my examples are of games involving us but even when looking at just Chelsea the inconsistencies are glaring and the comments from Mark Hughes highlight that even managers are mystified at how the FA are coming to these disciplinary decisions.
-
Smacky The Frog reacted to ForeverCarefree in Diego "the guv'nor" CostaStoke manager Mark Hughes, who saw winger Ibrahim Afellay's ban for slapping West Brom's Craig Gardner in August reduced from three games to two, said he is left "scratching his head" by the FA's decision to overturn Gabriel's ban.
"I'm not sure why Afellay had a two-game ban when I see news of other situations which seemed to be deemed violent conduct and they get wiped off," Hughes told BBC Radio 5 live.
"We keep asking for explanations from the FA about why they come to decisions against us - or we're getting different ones to other clubs. This is a prime example of that. We're bemused by it."
