I can get people going on about kdb and lukaku, liked the look of kdb and lukaku proved himself in the PL on loan.
But with Salah its like, we've let go bigger names than him. All we needed was the foresight to know that letting schurlle, cuadrado and others go is fine but not mo "shots go for throwins" salah.
But we've constantly had to sell to buy so those sales funded Costa, Fabregas, Kante etc who were instrumental in title wins so live and let live.

Yes you can’t guarantee a title and since selling them we’ve won 2. Sure we could have kept them but you can’t take a title for granted. We could have kept them and not won anything.

Think Herrera must be up their with most hated player by rival fans TBH. Horrible, snidy little c**t. Danny Murphy had it spot on this morning and said if he was still playing and Herrera was playing for the opposition, he would make it his business to target him.
Never wish injuries on any player but you could almost be excused to wish to see Herrera get completely wiped out in one of those Ron Harris / JT challenges from yester-year.

Indeed. He is still the master. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone banging on like Citeh invented football. This week has certainly tarnished their glitter. Just shows what can happen when opponents really commit and go at them with pace and numbers.
As for Pogba's reaction at the end, if he played for us and we had just stopped Tottenham winning the title at their ground I'd have been wanting to run on and celebrate with him. Fair play to him.

Winning the Europa League clouded his failings that season. His coaching cost us a lot of Premier League points, a chance at another league cup final and a World Club Championship win. He always set us up not to lose, he never set us up to win. Even when we were chasing a win, his choice of a sub was a RB. Us winning the Europa League was great, but considering the opposition we had, it would have been a major cock up if we had not won it. Any of those teams we faced would have been an expected easy win if it was a Champions League game.
He also tried to force Terry into an early retirement by saying things like Terry couldn't play more than one game a week anymore. He refused to apologise for past comments made at the club and it's fans and he also refused to back us when Suarez sunk his teeth into Ivanovic.
Benitez never even tried to get on the right side of us Chelsea fans. He used us as a way to spark some life into his managerial career. He doesn't deserve our respect, he never did enough to earn it.

Atmosphere wasn't always that good. Jose often had to push the crowd. Away support is fantastic, but at home, sometimes it could be better, imo. Anyway, he's trying to interact with their fans, nothing to see there, tbf, their home support is good.

I find it interesting to see people saying he's no longer one of us because he went to United etc and it's different to Lampard etc..

Indeed it is different to Lampards situation, he wasn't sacked by the club... twice!!
(He also said he wouldn't rule out working in England again if he was sacked the second time I believe, Lampard specifically said he wouldn't play for another English team & then he did - it's by the by because he's still a legend to me anyway but I'm just making the point).

I just can't get my head around the vitriol towards the greatest manager in our history & some of the abuse he takes on here lately is embarrassing by some.

I get that everyone loves Conte at the moment and I agree he seems great but the fact people are now saying 'who cares about Jose' 'he was never that special' etc etc...
It actually makes me cringe & I can see why some opposition fans have such a negative view of our support, we have some really spoilt fans. It's not even just young ones either, it's some of our longer standing supporters as well.

Mourinho done what he done at the weekend for one reason, to shift attention from the poor United performance, he's spent his career doing it. Everyone lapped it up when he was our manager and now they're condemning him for it. It's so hypocritical it's unreal.

I still firmly believe Jose is a massive part of the success we've had over the last 10  years plus. I wish him nothing but the best personally & professionally as long as he comes second behind us!!

He'll forever be a Chelsea legend in my eyes.

Also let's bare in mind it's early days in the Conte era, we've had good starts under new managers before. Hopefully he's the man for us, but I'll reserve saying he's the messiah for longer than a couple of months.

Anyway, that's my rant over, I don't mean to offend anyone but the abuse towards our most successful manager really gets on my nerves.

Absolute crap!  A title win always has a lot to do with the manager.  One player does not win a title.

I'm not saying some fans didn't complain, but I think the majority accepted the transfers as part of our ongoing strategy of buy low-sell high/loan ad inifinitum when it comes to young players. I agree KDB could have had more chances and after his pre-season and the Hull game I was definitely one of those eager to see him playing regularly. It didn't happen and yes, that is down to the manager entirely. However, actually selling him is not the manager's decision or responsibility. That was the transfer department. We could have loaned him. Could have refused to sell (he was under contract for several years after all) but we didn't. We CHOSE to sell him. Obviously you could argue that we don't want an unhappy player at the club, but you could also argue that a player who wants out at the first sign of being dropped is not a player who is thinking of the club, only himself.

It's not black and white, and that is just one transfer out of many that occurred over the past few years. In hindsight we would all agree it hasn't worked out well, but we sold Schurrle, another young player with talent and potential to the same team, and who is calling the board out on that one now? Nobody because we got good money and he hasn't improved. KDB could have gone exactly the same way but it didn't so now we complain. It's very easy to look back and say selling Schurrle was a good decision and selling KDB was a terrible decision but hindsight is always 20/20. We just gotta deal with the crap we have now and learn from our mistakes rather than dwelling on them and blaming Mourinho for every goal KDB scores for Man City ( exaggeration, not saying you actually do that)

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. So many people were praising Emenalo and our transfer strategy a few years ago when we were replacing unproven players with proven quality and making a profit while doing it, yet now those same players are fading (inevitable as they are older) and we are unable/unwilling to replace them at a cost, the criticism is coming in.

Who is to blame? Everyone. The manager (Mourinho) wanted players to come in to improve the squad, which is a natural demand of most managers. The players that came in DID improve the squad at the time and we won trophies.

There are 2 ways the transfer committee could have prevented our current situation. Option 1) refuse to buy the older players the manager wanted, and insist that the younger players stayed to help us in future years. This strategy would have a long-term benefit, but could anger both the manager and the players who want to leave.
Option 2) Keep buying. When it becomes apparent that Matic/Ivanovic/Cahill etc etc are losing form/ageing, you buy in quality replacements to ensure the quality of the squad stays high. Obviously this is an expensive option and may be very difficult under FFP rules.

If Mourinho was promised some control over transfers, then refusing to buy players he demands is immediately going to anger him and cause issues. The ideal scenario would have been Mourinho keeping and utilising our younger players at the time, but nobody was complaining when we won the league. Nobody complained when we made a huge profit on KDB and Lukaku and re-invested in quality. And most of all, Mourinho claims he never wanted those players sold, so who sanctioned those sales?

Mourinho had a short-term vision which the younger players didn't fit into, but with Abramovich's reputation for sacking managers who in the world would come here and NOT have a short-term vision? I don't blame Jose entirely, although his refusal to use some young players is a factor. I don't blame Emenalo entirely, although his decision to allow those players to leave is a factor. I don't blame Abramovich entirely but he has created a short-term working environment for managers coming in due to numerous sackings (some deserved) in the past. Blame lies everywhere at the club and now we have a huge job to pull ourselves out of the sh*t. Roman has to put up big money, the transfer board needs to make smart signings and we need our manager to feel confident that he has time and job securiy to think long-term and ensure that we build a squad that will stay together for a long time.

And we might need to see some flying pigs too, for good measure

    Our problems listed down:
. Little goal threat (Only Costa as a consistent goalscorer)
.Little to no creativity  (Fabregas is the only player who seems to be creative and decisive with his passing and he is inconsistent)
. A midfield that can't keep hold of the ball under pressure
. No width as both wingers and fullbacks are inverted (Both opposite foot) or old and past it
. Defenders who can't handle sustained pressure from an offensive side and lack organisation
. Half the team seemingly wanting to press up high and the other half wanting to sit deep

We are a complete mismatch of players that don't fit together. Like a jigsaw for different puzzles just jumbled together. We need much more cohesion in our style and the players we want to sign in the future. We need creative, decisive offensive players. Too many guys like Hazard and Willian doing silly little tricks which don't affect the game. We need midfielders that can hold onto the ball and bridge the gap between defence and attack. We need faster defenders who want to push up and close the gaps between defence and attack. And we also need fullbacks who will offer width and first time balls into the box.

    About 5/6 players there.

But i'm not paid thousands of bucks week in and week out to find the best possible player for Chelsea. Buying a player who for me has never looked like a 32 mil player -now he's even 29 years of age doesn't impress me one bit. PSG look actually quite relieved that they parted ways, Mou didn't rate him that highly, Emery too, tells an unpleasant story, imo.

Yeah yeah yeah Luiz is the GEEZER, his to tongue is always out, he comes across as a decent man, you can always see him sweat during work... club tries to find some identity, Luiz fits the bill.

Second coming is the new cool thing to do, okay.

Anyone who saw his performance against Monaco just 10 days ago, would not be saying he has matured.
And I love reading that "Luiz would be solid with JT alongside him" despite the fact that Silva could not make him "solid". Also what is the plan of action here? Give JT another 3 years of extension, because I honestly dont want or think that Andreas and/or Zouma should be the ones baby sitting luiz.

I'm not sure where your concerns are coming from. We needed to provide cover and competition for Costa, we did. We need to add more steel in midfield, we are doing.
Conte has already hinted we will see another 3 signings, so in all likelihood, we will try to address the problems at the back as well.
Maybe utd and city will be favourites on paper, although I don't think United have done anything of note, I'm certainly not fearful of a 35 year old Ibrahimovic,
Liverpool have weak squad, I don't think they will be anywhere near us.
Plenty to complain about last year, but so far so good in terms of this summer.
