Why does it have to be mount or pulisic? Play Mount over Jorginho. It's clear as day!

TBH I don't think Wolves will have any advantage due to a longer break. We played Arsenal having had over a weeks break and got well gubbed. We've quite settled into the Thursday-Sunday routine so for me I'd wish we played Wednesday or Thursday.
We had a slow start to the season and Willy Boly was missing for the hiding you handed out to us at Molineux in September. We are very solid at the back and despite the plaudits over Jimenez and Traore I see our defence as our main strength.
Chelsea are potent going forward but like Man City, Man Utd and indeed Liverpool are suspect at the back, however I don't expect Nuno to go gung-ho on Sunday. I'd like to see a front three of Jota-Jimenez-Podence (watch out for him, likened to the new Hazard - yeah I know!) and bring Traore on around the 60th minute.
We need to match or better Spurs result to guarantee EL in 6th. Well Spurs are going to thrash Palace which means we need a win. I'm not sure. However if we fail please promise to beat Arse in the FA Cup Final to guarantee us a EL qualifying place in 7th.
Looking forward to the match - should be great!

Stick with the 3 at the back I think, but please, just play Pulisic over Mount this time...

Also, it might be best to play CHO over Willian.

Last game we needed to go with a conventional 4 at the back however against Wolves we need to play 3 at the back. We annihilated them with the 3-4-3 at Molineux & they didnt have any answer to Arsenal either when they adopted the same system against them.
However we will need to make a few changes to the lineup:
                           Willy
              Azpi- Zouma- Rudi
    James                                 Alonso
Kova- Kante/Mount (Depending on Kante's fitness)
    Willian                                 Pulisic
                        Giroud

Hopefully, Lampard makes the right move and not start Kepa.
Regardless of how good he is, his confidence has hit an all-time low, and we can't afford any slipups.

f**k playing for a draw. We’re simply not good enough. We need to go after them and go for goals.

    Willy
    Reece - Christensen - Zouma - Azpi
     Mount - Kante (if fit) - RLC/Kova
    CHO - Tammy - Pulisic

Mount isn’t a winger, & I don’t understand what some fans have against CHO. Against a Wolves back 3, you need players that will keep their wingbacks pinned back all games & be decisive when they get the ball at their feet. That isn’t Mount, CHO starts all day for me but can’t see it happening.

I’m not going to lie and say I am overly impressed with Lampard’s decision making as a manager. His ability to set up our defence is hilariously poor.

However, with the squad he inherited and losing Hazard without being able to Rebuild in the transfer market, what he has achieved is incredible.

Top 4 finish (pending) and an FA Cup Final  and a decent European run is somewhat forgotten due to Covid19. This entire season has been a success whilst finally bringing through youth and giving them a chance. It has been a remarkable season in that aspect. We must have one of the worst defences in Premier League ‘top 4’ history.

Referring to Frank as our problem is poor though. I have confidence he can turn this around but he seriously needs help with the defensive game.

I am REALLY scared for this game. Looking at our keeper situation i am sure Wolves will only need to practice 3 things to beat us
    1. Have Traore beat our wingback and Cross for Jiminez because we all know Kepa stays rooted to the spot
    2. Moutinho and Neves take long range shots because we all know Kepa has Butterfingers
    3. Practice set pieces because well i guess that is Self Explanatory
Wolves are definitely not a better team than us but i am afraid they will be fresher than us due to their lack of a midweek game and the enormous pressure that will be on us to get a result.
                              Caballero
           Rudiger      Christensen    Zouma
    AZPI     Kovacic       Jorginho          Alonso
             Mount                    Pulisic
                         Giroud

True. Those who say Lampard isn't good enough were expecting too much from this season.
Before the season began I genuinely thought we would fight for Europa League spot. This team has many many flaws and we need to accept that. At the end, coaches can't play instead of players.
I think that prime Mourinho wouldn't do better than 3rd/4th place in these circumstances.

This is what makes me laugh about those that say Lampard isn't good enough. Last season, we had one of the most experienced coaches in the game, and he just about got us top 4 with one of the best players in the world and without any of the problems Lampard has had this season. Lampard has been handicapped from day 1 but he has still got us to a cup final and within a point of top 4. In my opinion, when you compare the positions they were in, I would say Lampard has done a better job than Sarri and a few other experienced coaches we have had over the years.

He is still inexperienced and it's normal for him to make mistakes, just like tonight when he didn't start Pulisic.
But no manager would do any better with this squad this season. Top 4 is close, all we need is a high level of concentration and we're certainly there.
Now is the time to get behind the team!

This game is now bigger than the FA Cup final. 2 things are for certain, Pulisic and Caballero must play.

I don't think you can justify Jorginho starting in the midfield. Kante is quick and not weak against counterattacks. If Lampard starts Jorginho to get that midfield, I get it and am okay with that, but then he needs to be ready to pull him if Jorginho starts giving up counterattacks.

demba ba was decent...and i said he is 50% better than him
demba got like 14 goals for us in about 50 apps
tammy has 18 goals for us in about 50 apps
spare me this "hes only 22" stuff
also its not his first premier league season, he had 31 apps for swansea in the prem scoring 5 goals in the year 2017

Werner, Giroud and Tammy are good options for us next season. Just add Havertz and we're done with the attack, no need to sell Tammy at all.

If we both lose, and we then lose against Wolves, a draw between Utd and Leicester will see us drop to fifth on GD.

That's the point I'm making, if we lost both of our next games, and United and Leicester draw, Leicester would go above us on goal difference, if we get a point here, they don't.

I'm just saying that a point isn't necessarily a terrible thing either, because I've seen people say a point is meaningless.

A point is still very important, because if we lose to Wolves and United and Leicester draw, they won't go above us on goal difference.

Just make sure we don't lose this game, give it everything.

    I listen to Lampard.
2 weeks ago he said he wasn't training hard and he wasn't playing him.
Now Lampard is saying he is. Let's see if Frank decides to reward him with playing time. If he does, good on Callum for listening to feedback and not whining. I dont necessarily believe the Independent story today about him, that could just be noise.
Some posters have been trying to find any reason they can imagine to why he's still on track to be a world class player and that the reason he isn't playing has nothing to do with his aptitude but instead because he had coronavirus or an achilles injury over a year ago. I am not going to do the same if he starts playing and playing well.

I actually would not be surprised to see him start against Liverpool. If Pulisic is not 100% or Willian needs a rest (or both), it would be a great occasion to start CHO and see what he does against an elite club.
The kid is young and raw. Having a serious injury, a new manager, a potential world class talent entering and competing for time, and a legal dispute where it seems that he is innocent did not make CHO’s season easy. I just think people need to take it easy and give him a chance next season.
