  1. Watching him in the Championship, and last season, he strikes me as a lesser version of Ollie Watkins.
  2. As with Rudiger, contract talks were stalled by the sanctions on the club. Prevented from negotiating contracts.
  3. Far from being forced out. Offered a new contract, we wanted him to send him on loan to Palace. Newcastle appeared out of the shadows. He decided he would get senior game time in the NE. Presumably at LB when his preference is midfield but there's little chance, barring a sh*t storm of injury, that he will crack Newcastle's midfield. In short, his choice.
  4. James has been examined by specialists on more than one occasion. The medical team act on the specialists' advice. More a case of changing specialists.
  5. Optimism.
  6. *quietly empties him out of the Fantasy team*
  7. Very good in the Championship, struggled with the step up last season. I'm not convinced he's anything more than a very good Championship player.
  8. Once, I think. Playing in midfield.
  9. I'm not touching that with a barge pole. So to speak.
  10. But everywhere bar LB. So it's Chilly + Cucurella. Colwill essentially played LB against Liverpool.
  11. I have better things to concern myself about than Twatterati fans.
  12. Now I'm confused. Does this prolong Maatsen's stay? Except Poch has not once played him at LB. Bah. Confusion sucks.
  13. Absolutely. Which involves anticipation (not to forget instinct). First half v Liverpool, obvious even to Blind Freddy that a cross was coming in, Jackson was way too slow getting into the 6 yard box.
  14. He's now, finally, able to commit himself fully to the one thing that has been truly important in his life. His family. Football was only ever a means to an end. Training was always a very unfortunate, extremely unwelcome necessity. Let him be.
  15. Let's get the quote right.
  16. Yep. I think it's a case of what he found easy in the Dutch league wasn't as easy in the tougher hurly burly of the PL.
  17. dermott replied to dkw's topic in General Chelsea FC
Yep. Still only 19 but Harvey seems to have stagnated. Hull was definitely not a good option.
  18. Not fussed. It's what's inside the shirt and number.
  19. How fit is Caicedo? Hasn't trained or played for quite a while.
  20. Burnley's a good idea. Kompany would, presumably, slot him back in at FB. We can see how he shapes up to PL standard.
  21. Odd situation. Played LB all his career (as far as I know) but hasn't once started there even in friendlies (as I recall). Defence wasn't his strongest suit at Burnley. Poch has tried him everywhere else, especially the wing. Clearly doesn't see him as a LB and we have plenty of wing options. Seems to point to him being surplus to Poch's requirements.
  22. Loan to Leicester confirmed.
  23. Loan to Leicester confirmed.
  24. Common sense. You're setting a dangerous precedent around here.
