  1. Exactly the same, that generation of our youth from 2014-2018 was just unreal, we were winning the youth league and FA cups almost every year and in the UEFA youth champions league we won 2, runners up twice and the one year we didnt feature was 16-17 when our main squad wasnt in the CL so by default the youth team didnt make it either. Colwill is one of the very few to break through in the last 2-3 years thats destined for a high level, he looks class and im really happy hes doing his loan spell at brighton under a great manager who is giving him a lot of minutes. Cannot wait to see him come back, just really hoping he stays injury free as that is always the main worry at this sort of age
  2. Yeah I agree, Mount is like the version of Pedro we had at Chelsea.. But do people think that's good enough for where we want to be? I mean if someone offered us 60m, I would bite your hands off for it as hes one of the few players we can sell that will help us massively with FFP
  3. He was the best he's ever been in 2021 sure, but I still feel thats nothing overly amazing in general. Just his style of play and the things I look for in players he doesnt have
  4. Oh I didnt mean hes going to leave for us, but if a Madrid or Barca came calling, most players heads will be turned
  5. Somehow with @RIP Mourinho around, nearly every thread turns into a Mount thread! Back onto Pulisic though, needs to be moved on in the summer. I like him as a player, and when hes at his best he is excellent. But sadly that comes around very rarely, and combined with his injury record as well its best to move on.
  6. LMAO! Have you seen this guys record in europe? It is utterly embarrassing. His target for transfers are embarrassing as well. On top of that plays absolute dross football
  7. keep this overrated manager FAR away from this club.
  8. Im not playing them off, but there is context. Scoring a tap in that was expertly created by the assister for example after having a pretty poor game against madrid is over stating his "contribution." Not to mention these "big chances created" stat you keep harping on about is majority from free kicks/corners and he used to take them all. Now that he doesn't take all set pieces, his big chances created stat has gone way down. I (and many others) dont see his contributions in that run as important as several other players, thats the point I was making anyway.
  9. No not a proper interview, it was just in one of those articles claiming he wasnt happy about london and wouldnt mind going back to italy. Lukaku's was an actual interview but this was just a comment that was made in passing from what I remember, will try and find a link to the article though
  10. Who would have thought back then he would end up the best RB in the world and one of the best this country has ever seen
  11. Crucial cog in the CL run? For someone who loves to bring up stats, here's some for you: in the 6 games in the group stage, Mount had 0 goals and 1 assist. R16 - 0 goals and 0 assists over both legs (3-0 AGG) QF - 1 goal against Porto over both legs (2-1 AGG, good mount goal) SF - 1 goal 0 assists against Real Madrid (3-1 AGG, easy tap in for mount where Pulisic did very well to create the goal) F - Assist against City for the Havertz goal And performance wise, apart from his usual "work rate" and "energy" in terms of actual quality on the ball i.e through balls, vision, weight of pass it was typical mount and was majority just the usual stuff we've been seeing from him this season i.e not impressive. There were much more important players for us in the CL run, and Mount was not very high on that list. James, Silva, Rudiger, Christensen, Chilwell, Kante, Jorginho, Pulisic were all more important. Felix is a much better footballer in my eyes and was in an Athletico team that played the complete opposite style to the kind of footballer he is, so comparing stats from players in very different systems is pointless
  12. There were of course people from the very beginning who didnt like him either, but it was a small minority but this season a lot more people have turned. If you just look at Felix and Mount from a goal/assists point of view and just prioritise stats, then sure. But actually watch them play on the pitch and they are worlds apart as footballers in my opinion.
  13. would assume its rubbish, but Kvaradona looks like a hot commodity for this summer for various top clubs so they might just be looking at potential replacements early. Not to mention the fact we are quite heavily interested in Osimhen as well. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11878867/Chelsea-send-Christian-Pulisic-Napoli-player-plus-cash-deal-sign-Victor-Osimhen.html I would assume its probably just a load of rubbish currently, but Pulisic has been linked pretty heavily with Serie A
  14. Hes been poor for 12-18 months, but people have only really starting turning on him in the past couple of months I would say. I think that is definitely part of the reason he gets the extra stick. There have been many points in time when Mount would have a bad/average performance and it would get hyped up for almost no reason which causes people to react with saying it was bad in return, and it just snowballs from there with the views and counter views getting more and more extreme just to prove a point. I personally for one don't think hes as good as some people claim. There were people calling him the next Lampard and he is nowhere near that level.
  15. He'd be willing to take a wage cut to go back if he feel's happier there, heard him mention it before in some article where he said he wasn't happy in England and would move back to italy. Things have changed now of course, but im sure the wages wouldnt be such a huge issue if he wants to move
  16. And you seem to be in every thread defending Mount with every breathe. Mount gets hammered on social media by fans because of a large majority of our matchgoing older dinosaur fans (who dont use social media as much) seem to do everything in their power to defend him, so it naturally creates an argument. As much as people seem to say he gets overhated, at the same time he is definitely over defended and over praised for things he has done. Its usually always 1 extreme or the other with Mount which I think lies the problem
  17. Class player, would fit in perfectly next to Enzo and going for pretty cheap as well. Essentially like a younger Kante who is better on the ball for those who haven't heard of him (which I suspect is most of this forum)
  18. the problem with this is, we're facing champions league royalty in Real Madrid and possibly Bayern🤣
  19. loan or permanent?
  20. This is very telling. I have a few mates who support west ham and some content creators I watch online who say a pretty similar thing. They don't think he holds a candle to Noble and never will even if he spent the rest of his career there. Think most people just wanted to sign him because he's mount's friend and his fugazi "leadership" qualities which have now been debunked. Lets just hope arsenal save us by signing him instead, we need to keep far away.
  21. the downsides you are mentioning about him are just defensive work? thats clearly not his strong suit, and I believe what he brings in the attacking half far outweighs some defensive frailties. He has missed a few chances and seems to love the woodwork so i'll give you that, but thats not really that big an issue. The fact hes getting into those positions in the first place is a positive for me
  22. well Ive been seeing a few people who don't want to sign him just because he replaces a fan favourite... from what ive been seeing and hearing we have a good relationship with Athletico so a deal should be fairly easy to agree. I think a fee of about 80m was touted which i think is very fair in this current market. Not to mention im sure we have plenty of players in our books that athletico will be interested in that we can provide in a swap
  23. Camavinga would play in midfield despite being listed as a defender for some reason. The u21 team midfield looks insane
  24. First time being called up to the france squad! Dare I say hes probably the best CB in that list too. Upamecano, Konate and Kounde are all very overrated which only leaves Saliba as his competition, and in the u21's its common knowledge that fofana was always seen as the better CB whenever they played together
  25. tbf out of all things to critisize mount, I think work rate should be one of the last. The main thing hes good at is his work rate and nonstop running on the pitch, if he loses the will to do that then hes truly hopeless
