  1. Caicedo is younger, better on the ball and has a contract until 2027 with Brighton. Meanwhile Rice's contract runs out next summer with an option for 1 more after that. English tax is very scary
  2. there's regular inflation, and then there's football inflation.. 30m is what it cost us to buy a generational talent in Hazard in 2012... in 2023 the equivalent is literally like 100m 30m is considered a pretty cheap transfer at this point
  3. Never said they did, but its a pretty clear indicator of the performances. And like I said, performance wise we are actually not as bad as some make out with potter. Under lampard, the performances were even worse than the results I think you're just a very angry and bitter man that you're favourites have turned out to be absolute stinkers. One of the typical xenophobe fans who clearly only rates and cares for white english players, and it turns out they're getting chucked out of this club like yesterday's garbage. Its funny you think you're in the majority of the way you think and the buffoons you have agreeing with you by liking your posts, but unfortunately you and the other brexit fans are nothing but a small irrelevant minority in the grand scheme of things that the ownership and other sets of fans laugh at and make fun of. corr blimey propah chels he gets it geeza! 🤣🤣🤣
  4. Apparently Pochettino loves a double pivot so really we'll only be playing 2 midfielders most games throughout the season. 2 starts + 2/3 subs and we're probably okay for this season specifically. Worst case as well we just dont loan out Chuk or Santos and keep them around in the first team and perhaps even play Hall there. We will need at least 2 new signings for midfield though
  5. rumours that galatasaray wanted him, but it was only a loan so we rejected it. there were some rumours with the saudi's as well but thats gone a bit cold as of late. Contract set to end in 2024, so best we sell him now and get rid of those awful wages
  6. straight out of cobham is hideous. Simon johnson and liam twomey are 2 of the worst people in the chelsea football space
  7. Oh I agree, midfield for me is by far the biggest issue. Caicedo alone wont be enough and we'll need at least 1 more midfielder on top of him and ideally 2 more assuming all rumours for our outgoings come true. Potential midfield this season: Enzo, Caicedo + 1 or 2 of Kone/Lavia/Caqueret Out: Mount, Ruben, Gallagher, Kovacic, Kante, Loan: Casadei, Santos, Hutchinson, Chukwuemka forwards is a similar story if we sell all the rumoured ones that are supposedly going out, so we'll likely need a striker and 1 experienced winger
  8. wouldnt be surprised with the amortization, but looking at it bluntly it still was a terrible transfer in every way. Thank god we have a good board now!
  9. not many of the players need to get replaced as our squad was so huge. Its mainly still the midfield and a striker that needs some reinforcements
  10. The main issue is that he wants to see us fail so badly, and hes pissed as hell that we managed to find a way to offload a ton of our players that previously people were thinking was really hard to do. Deep down he wishes united could do the same, but their players arent as desirable to the saudi's
  11. As things currently stand Im not too sure... As out and out wingers we only have Madueke, Mudryk and Sterling assuming all the transfer rumours come true.. I dont think you can rely on Madueke and Mudryk for an entire season when they're still pretty experienced and raw, which only leaves us with 1 senior winger. Unless we're linked with bringing in someone else, not sure if its the best idea just yet to sell Pulisic as well.
  12. did waste a lot, but in all fairness we did recoup a reasonable chunk of that back through constantly loaning him out every season
  13. west ham are a joke, thank god we dodged this bullet! 100m for Rice is insanity
  14. It seems we are trying to sort out all the stupid high earners at our club, with most of them leaving or rumoured to leave (koulibaly, kante, auba etc) and there are only a few names left that are on ridiculous wages currently. Sterling and Lukaku being the 2 main ones, but it seems as if Lukaku is set to leave soon potentially as well. Sterling is the one Im not sure about and dont think he will leave for a while yet, however I do believe there was some clause in the contract saying if he we missed out on europe a % of the salary would get cut, so even he wont be on anything insane anymore. Oh the wonders of trying to make up for the several years of mistakes we have been making including last summer...
  15. oh jesus really? For some reason I was thinking in my head he was late 20's when he made the move damn. Then I guess we were pretty lucky in the sense he didnt do much at united then!
  16. ill be honest I skipped over the wilkins bit and was more thinking of Mata and Matic who were both over the hill. wasnt old enough! I really hope we do accept the offer because the chances are that if we dont accept it we lose out on 55m (at least) pure profit for ffp because next summer we'll lose him for free
  17. thats because those 3 we sold to united once they were past their best and in their twilight years. Mount is still quite young. Truth of the matter is that no club wants him apart from united who are well known to make crap signings anyway
  18. Easy to forget what azpi was at his best considering hes overstayed his welcome by a few years. He was both simultaneously top 3 RB and top 3 LB in the league at one point! One of our best ever signings, however his time is up at this point and I think he knows that himself
  19. one of the cobham graduates in the past decade or so that truly had a extremely high ceiling. Such a shame a few injuries derailed his career in the way it did. Good work from the board to get another high wage player off the books, and for a decent fee none the less. Excited to see what he brings to AC Milan!
  20. focused more on outgoings this week as reported, until the 30th of June. Looking to get as much as possible out by then and after we'll focus on incomings
  21. nicky are you okay, are you okay nicky
  22. exactly this, the salary is the biggest concern. Also, now with the multiclub model it should be far easier to "sell" some of these unwanted players as we can just send to strasbourg or something as a worst case scenario
  23. they've agreed personals, but so did we before so thats not really an issue. Main problem is the fee Leipzig want. Also doesn't help that we've lost Kova to City, and that seems like a factor in all of this for Gvardiol as they are international team mates
  24. I think if he had stayed this season, he would have looked a lot better than at times he has the season just gone. Definitely had a few very good games for us, but sadly was sullied by some of the terrible performances he had. The fact we have Colwill coming back and that he was on 300k a week, it was a good move all round for us to sell him. Hes a religious individual as well, so going to Saudi with his family really does favour all parties here. Good luck to him and his family, and I hope he has a good career in Saudi
  25. Bundesliga tax. Werner too looked great for leipzig and so did Havertz for Leverkusen. Guess there's no point talking about it until we've actually seen him play though
