Honestly Silva is too old to be relied upon for a full season and Fofana has been injured so with the sale of Koulibaly we kinda need a defender. In general we lost almost a full squad...

I'd agree but we are 1 game a week until January I believe. Badiashile has played RCB and seems comfortable on both feet should there ever be a case where Fofana and Silva are unavailable. 

Think United have the edge simply because they'll offer him a starting role. At best he'd compete with Fofana at RCB and this is only after a years time.

Has Koulibaly been finalised yet?

Good player, but not needed considering how many CBs we have. 

Silva, Badiashile, Fofana, Colwill is enough

Looking at this guys name I can imagine Carragher and Neville are salivating already in the hope we sign this guy and throw him straight in against the Scouse.

If Colwill stays that shouldn’t be an issue. Would prefer he gets a real chance than bring in another defender and push Colwill out 

Chelsea haven't given up on signing Gvaridol. But citech clinched Kova in the hope of signing Gvaridol.

they've agreed personals, but so did we before so thats not really an issue.

Main problem is the fee Leipzig want. Also doesn't help that we've lost Kova to City, and that seems like a factor in all of this for Gvardiol as they are international team mates

If we have two very promising left-sided centre backs already in Badiashile and Colwill, why would we need/want Gvardiol as a third, especially as he is a similar age ?

Well, why would we want any new players? If we already have players.

We would want better players.  Gvardiol is probably one of the best CBs in the world and he has been wanted by Chelsea for a very long time. It is most unlikely that we shall get him now, Pep sees him as a perfect player.  Kovacic is already at Citeh. Croatia connection. Gvardiol at the last World cup showed what a great player he is.

Gvardiol has a release clause in excess of 110m euros (£94.35m), which can be triggered next summer.  Leipzig are not willing to let him leave 12 months early for a significantly smaller amount.

We don’t need another defender if we are going to spend massive money it should be on osimhen in my opinion

I’m happy that we are backing our own promising young player rather than buy someone to block his path.  I think Colwill is highly regarded enough for us to take a chance on him.  We should be spending money on positions which needs strengthening, left centre back isn’t one of them at this moment.

David Ornstein says we have a €45m deal agreed to sign Axel from Monaco. Thoughts?

Underwhelming signing, he isn’t a mobile defender.

If Chalobah was French and came from Leipzig instead of Cobham, Diasi wouldn't of been purchased and talk of needing another CB wouldn't of ever been a talking point.

He sort of fits the mould. 25 years old French international that has captained Monaco. He clearly has leadership qualities which is good. 

I just watched a YouTube comp and that boy is big. Not just tall but bulky..sort of like Bjarne Goldbaek with height. Reminds me of Zouma and Brazilian Alex as well. 

What this does to Chalobah I don't know...

And as much as I like him. Fair enough. The guy isn't the level needed to replace Silva. 

This guy could be and is under £40m
