Done a little research, his top speed is 28.35 km/h. As comparison Trev is 31.8 km/h. So he certainly isn’t the fastest, but not terrible.

I am sure that was still faster than JT's . For a defender positioning is more important, besides he can also play right back so cant be slow

He is a big lad, presume he struggles more turning and with acceleration rather than top speed.

Well with Chalobah now injured along with Badashiele and Fofana, I guess we can’t have too many centre backs.

Humphreys looks a prospect though, but I can understand why we brought in a more experienced defender.

People on here keep talking about how this is the wrong priority etc but what today and yesterday has shown is we actually know very little about what's going on behind the scenes regarding transfers so just be patient ffs

Am glad we are no longer "focused only on Caicedo " and are doing other deals.

Like Badiashile I reckon the quick nature of this deal is down to Lawrence Stewart.

My feeling is this will turn out to be an excellent signing. Just the right age, seems to have been reasonably injury free, quite handy on the ball.

Don't like this one at all. Doesn't look any better than Koulibaly.

Koulibaly's problem was that he came to the PL 3 years too late. Chelsea wanted him way back when but Napoli wouldn't sell. Big black mark against whoever didn't realise he was past his best. In his prime, he was outstanding. Disasi has terrific potential.

Even if he arrived earlier, I still think he would have struggled. I never rated the guy that higher, he was never that mobile and always struggled on the turn. Playes like that in todays game are always going to be a weakness.

Potential at 25? He has been around for a while. I am a bit skeptical because most of the good French defenders get cherrypicked at an early age by European giants. I wonder why he has remained at Monaco. His pass success rate at 83% are also worrying considering he play in the French League. At 25 I am not sure those numbers can be improved, and I expect them to drop a bit in a quicker PL. By Comparison Fofana is at 89%, Thiago Silva at 38 is at 93%, Colwill is at 88%, Badiashile is at 89%, and even the much maligned Chalobah is at 88%.
I know he has been compared to Zouma, and what I am expecting on the ball is the 20yr old Zouma version who looked awkward in possession not the refined 25yr old Zouma version before he left for West Ham. Just remembered Malang Saar was on loan at Monaco last season & had an 89% pass success rate out there.

I know he has yet to kick a ball in the PL, but a part of me wonders if that little detail matters in the modern game, playing for a big club controlling possession of the ball most of the game.

In fairness he is now a French international, making his debut in the world cup at 24 so maybe he was just a bit of a late developer, though 24 is still pretty young.

Jeez the guy hasn’t kicked a ball and he’s written off. The people who keep moaning about Trev, Trev is not a top class defender just because he came through our academy take the impartiality out of it. If we want to win the league again we need top class defenders. Trev is a good 4th or 5th choice but if we want to win the league CL again we need top class defenders.
If the recruitment team see’s this guy as an upgrade then I trust them, they have been spot on since they came in and took over from Todd.

Probable the reason we didn’t move earlier was due to having all our defenders fit now Wes is out for the season the club didn’t sit on their hands they moved quickly to give the manager the tools he needs.

I remember fans always moaning about us not finding gems not moving to refresh to squad now we are it’s “ wait wait but we have this player from the academy already blah blah blah”

Our academy is the best in the world and will continue to be so now we have a project to build a young team and we will get gems from it and good players who we can sell for all profit.

Trev is a good player if he leaves won’t make a difference to our season.

New video from a few days ago. It's very much clear that he has long legs and decent positioning and that he isn't shy to carry the ball forward. Reminds me of Rudiger.

Now I see why he was the target on top of being a top defender he’s very very good with his feet!!
