Dr. Socrates got a reaction from The Rising Sun in Honest AhanorSo we bought him for the not inconsiderable sum of 40 million pounds and send him right away to Palace on loan? Is that right?

Dr. Socrates reacted to 2211 in Emiliano MartinezI can’t believe some people are saying Martinez is similar to Sanchez.
Sanchez is one of the worst in the whole league, Martinez is not one of the worst in the league.
And that’s without getting into stats, leadership comparisons, confidence they give their defenders and even the good old eye test.
It’s a clear upgrade.
We should have won 3-0 and because of Sanchez we nearly drew 3-3.
And there’s people who think Martinez is no better??
Mondays performance wasn’t a one off, he has needlessly cost us goals loads of times, every single season.
He’s not good enough and if we have any aspirations of finishing in the top 4 he has to be replaced.
And they should sack off that Ben Roberts as well!

Dr. Socrates reacted to DarkMata in Emiliano MartinezHe’s had some bad performances for us but that was up there as one of his worst.
-
Dr. Socrates reacted to JM7 in Emiliano MartinezNeville was right when he said that keeping Sanchez undermines everything that Alonso is trying to do. Imagine if we had drawn vs Fulham - it would been massively disappointing. We only just about won.

Dr. Socrates reacted to yaz in Emiliano MartinezGlad he had this meltdown while there's still time to do something about it in the transfer market.

Dr. Socrates got a reaction from Term_X in Emiliano MartinezSanchez is such a jerk. All he had to do was put in a half decent display against Fulham and he’d be the nailed on starter for the season. Instead he had a total meltdown. Let’s the ball run out of play while about to kick it, nowhere to be seen for their first goal, parries it into the striker for the second, almost conceded a third by charging out into no man’s, and repeatedly kicked the ball either out of play or straight to the opposition. Totally useless.

Dr. Socrates got a reaction from Jezz in Fulham vs Chelsea (PL) Monday 24th August 20:00 GMTWell Palmer, Rogers and Pedro were terrific up front. A goal apiece is promising stuff. Could easily have thrown it away though. Pity Caicedo and Palestra were injured. At least we know what the midfield looks like if Caicedo is missing. Pleased for Lacroix who managed to keep his composure amidst the chaos. Good to get off to a winning start and Alonso will have learned a lot about his players and tactics, so there’s that.

Dr. Socrates got a reaction from erskblue in Sunderland vs Chelsea (PL) Sunday 24th May 16:00 GMTNot sure what the new manager made of that utter shambles of a performance.
Transfer window is going to be interesting. It’s going to be difficult to get rid of so much deadwood.

You don't have to get rid of deadwood. You can burn it.

Dr. Socrates reacted to WhiteWall in Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea ManagerI know that I am a broken record but we have to have players and a manager that instils a standard of discipline, fitness and professional pride in touch and care of the ball.
11 red cards this season, breaking our own record, and being more than double any of our rivals. Very few, if any of these are malicious or intentionally dangerous tackles. A fair number are for dissent and indispline. That's what your investment in kids brings you. Petulance. But the rest are for mistimed tackles or pulls and pushes due to being caught on their heels and not being able to keep up with play. The difference is fractional, but those fractions are huge. If you are brain dead like Fofana you can see why he can't help but put hands on or make late challenges. It's a lack of awareness between the ears and the general lack of fitness and anticipation is palpable. So many of them are like this.

Dr. Socrates got a reaction from Valerie in The FA Cup Final - Manchester City vs Chelsea Saturday 16th May 15:00 GMTWell we didn’t embarrass ourselves. But we offered nothing upfront. We needed a bit of quality and it was nowhere to be found. City paid for quality and that was the difference today.
In the end we did well just to still be in the game after 70 mins. And that’s about the limit of our ambition.

Dr. Socrates got a reaction from Backbiter in Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest (PL) Monday 4th May 15:00 GMTI thought it was just Rosenior the lads wanted to get rid of. Someone should tell them they can stop now. Otherwise people will think they’re the problem.
